Not to mention, this actually gives us more cap space.

Dobbs earned that spot. Major strides from year one to year two. Glad he made the team. I wish Landry well with whatever team picks him up. I’m sure he will find some work elsewhere.

Some surprises on the cut list this year with L.J. Being maybe the biggest. Wow.

That's true and with the Colts releasing Simon that could be a very good move for the Steelers. He's a 3-4 LB not a 4-3 like the Colts run .

The Steelers always make the right decision for the Steelers. That’s why we are always in contention.

Uhh no they aren't perfect, they've made their share of mistakes like other teams.

They make way less mistakes than other teams. That’s how they stay on top.

Think Haley can lobby Hue to pick up Jones?

    Not surprised.

This has been the Steelers M.O. since the AFL-NFL merger. Potential yields to development. Development yields production. Production creates experience. Rinse and repeat.

Why people believed the team was going to keep a Quarterback who reached his limit, his contract limit no less, is something I do not have the foggiest.

Because, to a degree, it's a kinda ballsy to go into the season with 0 regular season snaps between your 2 backup qbs. You do tend to want someone who's been there before.

That said, after Thursday night, i was completely on that same track. Jones had to go. Prior to that, i was 50/50.

What Dobbs showed this preseason was a guy who's at the very worst, just as talented as Jones and had a substantially higher ceiling - whereas jones has hit his ceiling.

Wow. Congrats to Dobbs...he earned a spot the other night. Best of luck to Landry. I'm sure he'll find a landing spot somewhere. He's a serviceable back up. Got more hate in SteelerNation than he deserved.

I want to know where are all the people that said we would keep Landry Jones? I’m not talking about the ones you said yeah the Steelers are probably keeping him ,I’m talking about the ones who said anybody who thinks Landry Jones is getting cut don’t know anything.

I think there might be a little more to it. Like the Steelers are working on a trade for Dobbs and bringing Landry back once that is finalized. Just a numbers game.
