I disagree. After 5 years they know exactly what they have in LJ. Dobbs should be getting most of the snaps so they can evaluate if they are comfortable with him as BU or not. Mason needs a fair share obviously but LJ should only get a few reps like he did last week to be game ready.

LIke I said you believe what you want and I'll trust in the people who put in a hell of a lot more work than whoever your sources for his draft status are. No one is arguing about a reach not being a smart move. People are simply putting their faith in the FO and where they had TE ranked on THEiR board....
You feel it's a reach that's fine it's your opinion. Some of us are saying it isn't and that our opinion. There's nothing left to argue. I'm simply hoping for TE to become a great player for us and to be able to look back and say the Steelers were smart for grabbing him before any other team did

    Couldn't agree more BF.
The reps that LJ would/could get in the preseason won't tell the Steelers anything else about what kind of QB he is or can be. Meanwhile you have Dobbs who, if he wants to stay on the 53 man roster, needs to prove he can be as valuable as LJ. Meanwhile the final piece to the puzzle MR, could also show that his value to the team can equal LJ.

Funny thing is through camp the trend I am seeing is the defense playing well.

Burns doing the best out of all corners, Haden actually doing the worst lol. Burnett playing well, Edmunds solid. James Washington can ball, cant wait to see him on the field.

Hell, I hope he's an All-Pro. I just don't see it as likely.

I read something last night possibly a quick question and answer with Butler that said Edmunds dropped on a lot of boards because he played the whole season with a shoulder injury.

I see Ben sustained a concussion today.

Any idea how this happened? Heard he got stepped on and hit his head on the ground.

Some defensive player and Olineman could be getting chewed out.

It was some form of "whiplash" according to Marcus Gilbert.

It was a seven shots drill and Ben stepped into Gilbert as Gilbert was being pushed back if I recall.

I don't know if this makes me confident in the defense, or **** scared about the offense.

Thanks for posting this. You're not the only one either. The reality is where some expert grades a particular draftpick means ultimately nothing. So is TE a 3rd round talent or not? According to many 'experts' he was. Is Mel Kiper or Mike Mayock God? HOW MANY TIMES HAVE THEY BEEN WRONG?

It is quite annoying hearing people gripe about this all and every day. These were the same people griping when the Steelers traded up in the first trading their 3rd round pick to move up to get Troy Polamalu.

I remember the headache as it was yesterday.

The bottom line is no one will know where he should have been drafted until a season or two in. If the 'experts' knew how good Troy was going to be, they would have had him projected in the top 5 if not the 1st overall. Where does Tom Brady get drafted? Antonio Brown. etc..

    Ryan Leaf anyone?

    Bud Dupree?

kidding on the last one :)

I think at this point the Josh Dobb fans need to be on their knees praying for an intervention, because I think his fate is sealed.

I think he's good enough for a team to potentially pick him off waivers though. If he makes it to the practice squad, I'll be happy. Don't think he's as bad as some are projecting.

I've heard enough about LJ Fort; if he hasn't done anything by now he never will. Too whiffy at the point of attack.

I think I'll skip prayer. If they roll with Jones I'll accept it and move on.
