so does casey, but his is packed with 6 lbs. of krispy kreme's. i hope Moo isn't hanging out trying the big guys diet plan. i hope he picks up hood's instead. as hood says here, big is out, big and lean is the way to go. i commend essex too. he's dropped alot off and from the pictures i've seen, needs to keep going about 10-15 more, and put it on in lean muscle. it was also alot of kemoeatu and max's problems. i like the change in thinking going on. they should all wear 6lb. vests while in shorts. :applaud:

There's no way that shoulder pads weigh 6 pounds, is there? I thought he was wearing the vest to have a batting donut effect -- so that he'll feel lighter and faster when he takes it off.

I was thinking the opposite, that they weighed less. And I figured in the pros they're probably ultra-lightweight.

they may also be considering rib protection some guys wear, and most LB'ers have bigger shoulder pads, but yea, they could easily weigh that much. 6 lbs. is alot lighter then they used to be. they have to do some protecting for hit type players. there are alot of different configurations per player. some hang back and neck protection add on's off of their shoulder pads too.

you have to also remember, they are not in pads as often anymore, so trying to practice the same way you play will take extra props to use. it most likely wouldn't change much but, it's still that "feel". we wore ankle weights with full pads in the run portion of practice. you took them off and you felt like you could fly. more of the donut effect your talking about.

That's what I thought you meant. My point was that if they were around 10lbs for us, it's not hard to imagine they're around 6lbs for a DL in the NFL. Good point about the ultra-light material, but 6 lbs is pretty light. Eh...who knows. :)
    :lolol:

Honestly, I would have thought he'd be wearing heavier gear what with his strength training and all. An extra 15 lbs would really help him get quicker off the snap. :)
