They didn’t, but the OP did say it didn’t look like things were improving based on the Eagles game.

Yep. Harrison said that, and people got from that Butler and Tomlin were calling different plays.

It’s not out of the question, but a bit of a leap from what JH actually said.

It’s amazing how people read what they want to into quotes etc. AR2 says we have to be more effective running the ball and half of steeler nation twists it into we are going to run more, back to power football blah blah. Same thing here.

I continue to challenge our fan base with a very simply notion. Tell me which Offensive Coordinators across the NFL snicker/chuckle/laugh as they prepare for what USED to be a 'daunting' task of dismantling A Steeler D? We all know the answer. ALL of them. Just the facts.

They all were decent against scrubs but Jones has had years to practice. We'll keep him for that reason alone. Dobb's played as if his job was on the line, it is. Mason looked strong in throwing motion but lacks mobility, which is exactly the way he has been his entire college career. Nice job kid, he'll learn more as time goes. Given time, I think Mason could really be a solid backup. He's not going to set the world on fire (a la Ben roethlisnerger) he's more of a lurk in the background, learn, and develop type but once he does, he does. Ben's our man, thank all that is holy, Landry's our back up whilst Mason learns.

The defense created 3 turnovers, had 2 or 3 sacks, and only gave up 14 points in a preseason game and you’re worried about the DC?

    Well,

1.) That's not the same thing, at all, as advocating to fire KB right now. A far throw off.

2.) It was just preseason, but did the D look like it fixed last year's imperfections, at all?

Yes, because we know how horrid some areas were and they didn't look improved, i.e. missed tackles, blown assignments, poor communication. Not only that, we played 3rd-5th string QBs - not even a 2nd stringer.

First of all, when cars came on the scene, the horse buggy business was done, in other words, times change. Secondly, they trend they still maintain is being beyond patient after making a decision - to a fault many would say, and I agree with. Haley was hre at least one season too long, Jarvis Jones was here at least 2 years too long, same with Kordell, Gildon, LeBeau, and on down the line.

Who said MT is? Maybe by the Rooneys, and consequently, the media.

You don’t know what the assignments were. Nor do you know if there were communication issues in that game. You’re making assumptions and claiming it as fact.

Well, if there weren't communication issues we must have been putting players out there who were as about as athletic as tomato plants.

Hypothetical: Highly unlikely Butler gets fired after Steelers win Super Bowl. Butler could get HC offers from other teams in the offseason.

Will Butler or Porter be gone next off season? Can they kill two birds with one stone?

Cobalt, I'm as critical as anyone about our D but let's not get crazy. Our rush D was beyond pathetic once Shaz went down, but before that our D wasn't the worst ever. We ended up 5th in total D, including our stats without Shaz. That is far from laughable.

True, our #'s were inflated by playing the likes of 3rd-string QBs, and our rushing D was softer than a wet piece of toilet paper, but to say every single opposing coaching staff laughed at our D is not accurate.
