They usually extended a QB contract with 2 years to go. That is where Ben is. With the Bell saga done for now, will they extend Ben?

    How much?

    How long?

This year, next year, at all?

No need to extend Ben. Mason to the rescue! This is Ben's last year. When they ask Ben to backup Mason next year. :hehehe:

If he shows up for the 2019 season give him a 1 year extension at the end of the season, like payton manning played on 1 year extensions his last 3 years Favre played out the end of his career on 1 year extensions, and brady will probably only get 1 year deals now in the twilight of his career, lets focus on mason and get him ready soon as possible to take over as the QB of the future....

Masons 3.4 M contract for the next 3 years compared to Bens 25M a year sounds like money wise mason will certainly be the best for cap space.............

Yeah, but Mason is unproven at this point. I'd give Ben a 2 year extension and if Mason is the smart move in 2 years then you make a move.

Only we have yet to see him even attempt a pass as a pro.

Boy, that’s a flashback down memory lane to the days long ago when some people argued Ben was elite.

I remember when Malone was supposed to be a suitable replacement for Bradshaw.

You never know til they step into action.

I think at his age I wouldn't do a deal ahead of time this year.

Consider a 2 year deal next off season.

I love what Rudolph could become but as long as Ben is still productive, I'll ride with him. I would definitely front load any deal as respect to Ben and to protect against a big cap number with Ben at 40.

Gotta say, with his style, I didn't think Ben would last this long.

I'd let the results dictate the future if it isn't this year then let it play out and plan for MR to take over in two years, the window for Ben, pouncey, Bell and a few others will have closed and they can retool for a run in the next 5. If Ben is successful and the ultimate goal achieved then maybe kick that big salary relief down the road a bit.

Franchise him in year 3. It still would pay him a huge amount if he can still play.

Only thing that I want to see extended, is Ben's arm when he leaves the building for the final last time.

Probably but in two years what the top 5 QB salaries would be will get him one heck of a payday. That year alone would be more than most guys would make in a career.
