At this point, I'd almost want them to trade Bell and just let the young guys have a chance.

I'm not in the belief that our running backs are so poor they can't be productive behind our O-line.

This whole drama story of Bell needs to end. I feel like every run he makes or pass he catches has an intent on cashing in on payday. Takes the fun away for me. Would rather see young, enthusiastic players that have been playing and practicing from the beginning.

I actually would support them doing this now. Someone else can have him and his political agenda to get paid the most ever double over for a running back.

Seen an update recently dude is absolutely ripped and ready to go. Definitely followed Bells path of dropping weight. It seems people forget just how dominant he was before the streak of horrible luck.

I’m looking forward to all that cap space to finally fix the rest of the holes next year.

I hope someone scams him out of all his money and he has to some day beg on the corner for change.

Shannon Sharpe was a good player, but he's a meathead.

I couldn't even imagine someone calling me up and saying that we would like to pay you $70,000,000.00 for 5 years of my employment. They'd have to send the EMT's to the house in order to revive me.

The only way he will get more is if he goes to a team where there are no state taxes. I doubt some team will pay him more than that. If they do, then they're even more delusional than Bell is when it comes to his (C)rap career.

Steelers were great before Bell. They'll be great after him. I do pray he doesn't go where I think he may....

18 million a year? Holy hell his agent or he is greedy damn. More than brown? Yea no way in hell.

70 million? I would eat all their dirty jockstraps just for 1 million. Jesus man lol

I honestly don't know what Bell is being told by his agent and/or people around him. No team in the league is going to pay him 18m a year. Bell is special, no arguing that, but there isn't a team in the league (except maybe the Browns?) will break the bank and sell the future for a RB.

Hopefully we can win a ring this year and send him off as a champion.

This is just straight up greed. I know a running back's window is short in the NFL and you have to get what you can, but come on. I'm really starting to not like Bell.

100%. This offense doesn't need Bell to be one of the best. The RB pool is pretty deep. If the Steelers want to go out in FA next year, they're going to be able to replace Bell with a very adequate replacement if they choose to go that way.

It doesn't make me happy to see Bell leaving after this year, but they Steelers can not spend the future on 1 player that may not have 5 years left in the tank anyhow.

It's not his agent, it's Bell, he keeps moving the goal post. Last year his agent agreed with the Steelers contract offer but when he took it to Bell, he turned it down.

I was such a big Bell fan coming out of college but can't wait for him to be off the team now.

I hope Conner really shines this year. He's the type of person and player I can root for.

I did. I believe they were one loss away from 8-8, .500 ball - the very definition of mediocre.

Bell said he wanted more upfront money! The Steelers were going to pay him 30 million for his first two years which is even more than I thought they would do.That averages out to 15 million for the first two years!I don’t know what the next three years would have been specifically a year but it averages out to 13.33 million for the remainder of the contract.I guess the 30 million as part of the upfront money to play on a Super Bowl contender that he played with all his career wasn’t good enough.Someone will offer him a little more next year but he’s taking a chance with other variables with a new team as the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

You think Billichick is going to put up with this meism?

    I'd be completely surprised..

Now a team like the Browns?

They'd be dumb not to pay it up as they have no team concept and haven't for the past decade and beyond.

I thought he wanted more guaranteed money long term with an average of 17/18 mill a season, which IMO would have been a mistake to do.

Adrian Peterson was top dog at RB for years, but started to decline in his early 30s.

Draft another young RB next year and go with a couple backs that bring different elements to the table. Spend all that big $$ on the Offensive and Defensive lines and revamp the linebacking corp. The Steelers will be just fine.
