So this whole time he's wanted to up the RB market value like he's Robin Hood or something. Last year 5-60mil and he said no. Today 5-70mil he said no! He would've upped the market by 4 mil per
last season and that's pretty damn considerable! This team does t need him as they've proven they can exit early with or without him during his stay thus far. I think if they rescinded the tag it would send a message to folks but it probably wouldn't resonate long term as he'd be scooped up by someone else anyhow. I hope some other team is willing to call on his services and we get something for him other than a long good bye.

I mean He don't even have a 99 rating on Madden! What's his problem? F this dude! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'd love to see the Steelers run the wheels off of Bell this season and then hand the ball to Conner every time they get in a goal line situation.

I suppose $14 million was insufficient. Reports came out he wanted $18 million a year.

Nevermind the fact that a Running Back's average career is the lowest among players at roughly two years, the fact that any Running Back receiving double digit figures is insane to the point of absurd.

No running back in today's game is worth $18 million; double digits doubly so.

I thank Le'Veon Bell for all his contributions and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

But Brady's wife make 3 x as much as he does, so it is easier to be less greedy.

They weren't mediocre. They dealt with injuries that they werent prepared for to key guys and had locker room turmoil that is now gone and with all that they still went 9-7 and were in playoff contention the last week.

He's entitled to his "opinion" as am I. Just because he played doesn't make him a FootballAnalyst:smiley1:. I've more than likely watched LB play football more than he has. Bell is matching up against LBs and Safeties not CBs. He's running routes out of the backfield and sometimes the slot. He isn't lining up outside beating Corners.... Anyone who can't see the difference isn't paying attention....

I think he likes that deal, but went w the security of his franchise tag and thinks that he will play well this year, he is optimistic on this team, and if he has a strong showing he thinks he can sign a long term deal from us for more, so he and his agent probably chose that gamble, knowing they have the security of a franchise tag, do I agree w that, I think he shld have accepted, but he is roling the dice a little, and i think that speaks highly for others on the team. I wldnt interpret what he is doing as Bell not having confidence in this year's squad or not respecting his employer,

Anyone else think the league is starting to catch on to his hesitation style running? I feel that D coaches around the league are on to it and scheming accordingly.

Russell Wilson is the only thing keeping the Seahawks even mediocre. Without him they would be a laughing stock.

    Agreed.

It's yet to be seen if the 'market' is going to provide more than what the Steelers did at around a purported 70 million for 5 years.

I hope this comes back and slaps him in the face now.

Really the Steelers did all they could to take care of him. Now he gets to see how it is playing for another franchise.

Basically Bell was using the Steelers in an attempt to escalate his value. I don't think he ever believed they would ever have offered him the 17 mill a year he wanted.

I believe he was using it as leverage.

I really don't think he'll be able to get that kind of money on the market. We will see.

If not yet, they will. Or every other RB in the league will copy him. His pass catching threat/ability is really what separates him (imo). Not however many millions worth though.
