    I watched the show. Here is what I remember: 10 Bus 9. Swann 8.Hines 7. Blount 6.Polamalu 5. Lambert 4. Woodson 3. Franco 2. Bradshaw 1. Mean Joe.

Here is my list of top 10 Steelers of all time. I didn't start watching until the 70's so its biased from 70's to today.

    10. Swann, 9. Webster, 8. Polamalu, 7. Bus, 6. Big Ben, 5. Harrison, 4. Bradshaw, 3. Hines, 2. Lambert, 1. Mean Joe

Its really hard to leave out Stallworth, Dawson, Porter, Lloyd, Ham, Hampton, Blount, Greenwood and others. What is your list?

Its impossible to do a true top ten list for the steelers. Yeah you can probably do a top two or three but after that there are way to many arguements for way to many players for each spot after that for a numerical order. Also who stays who gos in the top ten you could make an arguement for about twenty players that meant different things to this team at different times. No matter what top ten list i have ever seen i have said how is this guy this guy and this guy on the list. I dont know maybe its easier for others but for me that is how it is for me.

Yeah, I agree. There have just been WAY too much talent to reach a consensus on any top 10 list. Not that I'm complaining or anything

Maybe do a top 20 or 50 and go by alphabetical order so to not have to number them.

Top 10 is my favorite show in NFl Net. Love it. I work from home three days a week and usually have it on in my office. As much as I disliked Phil Villapiano when he played, he's a hoot to listen to today, talking about the 70s. George Atkinson: not so much.

The Steelers have figured prominently in these episodes:

Top 10 Defenses of all time (Steel Curtain #1)
Top 10 LB Corps of all time (70s Steelers #2, 90s Steelers were #6, I think)
    Top 10 Draft Classes (1974 Steelers #1)
Top 10 QB Duels (Bradshaw vs Staubach, SB XIII was in there somewhere)
Top 10 Corneback Tandems (Blount and Thomas made the list)
Top 10 Greatest Traditions (Terrible Towel is on there)
Top 10 Mobile QBs (Kordell Stewart made it)
Top 10 Things We Miss (QBs calling their own plays: Bradshaw was discussed here)

Top 10s I was shocked did not have ANY Steelers:
Top 10 Players not in the HOF (expected to see Greenwood, maybe Shell on this list)
Top 10 Super Bowl Performances (Bradshaw in SB XIII didn't make it?!?!?)
Top 10 Undrafted Players (James Harrison should have made this list, but I think they produced this show before he really came into prominence)

They're soon airing Top 10 Running Back duos...I expect Harris and Bleier to make this one. Anyone see this episode?

You got to put Ernie Stautner somewhere in the top 5. I just don't know who you take off the list.

I would take off the guys who aren't eligible yet. Otherwise you could throw in some guys from our roster, plus Aaron Smith.

I'm glad I can finally stop complaining about Dawson, but he took WAY too long.

First off, The Chief, is the number one Steeler. Without him and his commitment, we fans would not have these fantastic topics. :yeehaw:

Here's my top 20, along with my thoughts on each player...........................

    1) Lambert "his picture hangs above Mr. Rooney's office door"
    2) Mean Joe "the name says it all"
    3) Bradshaw "we seen what happened in 1976 without him fully healthy. Although, we were dominant on defense"
    4) Polamalu "without him, our current defense struggles and it shows"
    5) Blount "changed the game"
    6) Ward "a true baller. Jack Lambert of Wr's"
    7) Ham "Dobra Shunka"
    8) Bus "got us the tough yards"
    9) Stallworth "excelled in the 80's with garbage Qb's"
    10) Franco "deceptive speed"
    11) Swann "excelled in the big games"
    12) Anderson "yes a kicker!"
    13) Webster "stability"
    14) BIG BEN "frustrating at times, but fun to watch. Reminds me of my favorite player"
    15) Woodson "he could do it all"
    16) Russell "overlooked at times, but not forgotten"
    17) Wagner "made big plays in a quiet fashion"
    18) Lloyd "beast, who was only controlled by Cowher"
    19) Woodruff "solid player in the 80's"
    20) Greenwood "it's gotta be the shoes"

Others..............Shell, Gildon, Hinkle, Dawson, Stautner, Bleier, Banazak, Porter and K.Greene

    "Take that NFL Network"

i'm really suprised louis lipps isn't on any of the lists. if he would have played at a different time here, with better qb's, he'd hold all the records.

Undoubtedly. Lipps was one of my favourite players when I first started following the game - he was electric.

Its just my opinion but I just don't think Lipps comes even close to Stallworth, Swann or Ward. He was plagued with injures for two straight seasons in 86 and 87. He was good but I don't think he even comes close to being on a top 10 list. I agree that he could have been much better with a decent team around him and a decent QB. Below is a run down of his career:

n his first season, Lipps broke the National Football League record for punt return yardage by a rookie with 656 yards. Louis returned one punt for a touchdown and also caught 45 passes for 860 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. He was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year at season's end and was also named to the AFC Pro Bowl team for that year.

Lipps' second season in 1985 saw him go over 1000 receiving yards and 50 rushing yards with 1134 and catch 12 touchdowns.[1] He was named 1st Team All-Pro by the Newspaper Enterprise Association (NEA) and the Pro Football Writers Association (PFWA) and 2nd Team All-Pro by the Associated Press (AP). He also earned a second straight trip to the Pro Bowl. The Steelers named him the Team's MVP for the 1985 season. Lipps struggled with injuries during the 1986 and 1987 seasons but rebounded in 1988, finishing with 50 catches for 973 receiving yards and 5 touchdown catches including the Steel City Wonder, where he caught a ball in his facemask and scored. In 1989, Lipps again led the team in receptions (50), receiving yards (944) and receiving touchdowns (5) and was named Team MVP for the second time.

Lipps left the Steelers for one season to play for the New Orleans Saints in 1992 before retiring as a Steeler in 1993. Lipps caught 359 passes for 6031 yards and 39 touchdowns in his career.

pretty impressive for the time and the team around him. in those days it really wasen't that easy to go over 1,000 yds. receiving in a season and far less receivers did it. a much more run oriented game. i would have liked to seen him teamed up with hines. that would have been a nice duo in their hayday. looouuuuuuuuuuu. :)

    10. Mel Blount
    9. Jack Lambert
    8. Najeh Davenport
    7. Mitch Berger
    6. David Johnson
    5. Kordell Stewart
    4. Bubby Brister
    3. Limas Sweed
    2. Neil O'donnell
    1. Anthony Smith

That's my top 10. Really hard to narrow it down when you've got Swann, Mean Joe, Franco, Troy, Dwight White, Rod Woodson, The Bus, Hines, Kevin Green, and all the rest. It's just crazy trying to narrow it down but I think I've made a pretty good list. I was FURIOUS when I saw that NFL network only included two of my picks and totally forgot about the rest.

How on earth did you miss out Deuce Staley? Our team would have been nothing without him in the last decade. You probably haven't been following the Steelers for long enough... :D

Yeah Thig I really feel bad for leaving Verron Haynes off as well. But with so many great players it's just really hard to pick ONLY 10. But I think I've got a really great list though. People act like Mel Blount was awesome and try to name their internet profile after him but the fact is that he couldn't even carry Anthony Smith's dirty jock. And if Neil O'donnell would've played in the 70's we would've had 10 Super Bowls in that decade because he would've shredded all those cleverly nicknamed defenses like "the doomsday" and "no names" and "purple people eaters". Then everyone acts like Limas Sweed is not great but if you compare his numbers to Hines Ward Hines is not even close as far as their college careers and I think that should count too. But I'm sure all the "analysts" will disagree with my list but I'm sticking to my guns.

To be fair to you, though, "smithforcetrauma" doesn't quite have the same ring.

"Anthony Smith = trauma" might be better.
