Not sure where you came up with us being terrible in Oakland. Since 1970, we have 9 wins their versus 3 lost. If you are including Los Angeles we are 11 wins versus 5 lost. Glancing at the information, looks like we are worse against Oakland when they visit Pit. I could be off 1 or 2 each way, but it sure doesn't look like we are absolutely terrible there.

Did you happen to catch the game in '12 in Oakland? I think Carson Palmer was QB for the Raiders. Steelers played like crap and lost. How about the one in '13 when Terrell Pryor was QB? Tomlin-era Steelers have never won in Oakland. NEVER. And the Heinz Field '09 loss with Gradkowski at QB for Raiders was a damn disgrace. The only victory vs. the Raiders that I can remember since Tomlin has been HC was in 2010... Culpepper was QB for Raiders, at Heinz Field.

    yup.

5-9 all time at raiders, ben is 0-3. Chicago 1-11 all time ben is 0-2. Philly since 1979 we are 0-5. No need to post patriots stats lol.

Yep... Patriots stats are depressing. Last playoff victory vs. Pats was in January of 1998. Kordell Stewart was QB. It's crazy that Kordell has accomplished more vs. the Patriots than Ben. Kordell and Mike Vrabel won that game for the Steelers. Kordell with a key QB sneak to pick up a 1st down and Mike Vrabel (of all people) with a strip sack of Bledsoe.

I will say although depressing, at least Steelers look like they are trying now.

Yeah, but it's too little, too late. I think Rudolph has a better chance at getting the 7th than Ben does... and that's sad for Ben. It's gonna take a few years/drafts/FA acquisitions to get the D up to playoff/championship caliber. Until Burnett and Bostic prove otherwise, this defense is nowhere near playoff caliber.... also the slackers on the D-line and LB corps.

Well now your being more specific. What I quoted and responded to was "absolutely terrible in Oakland." I'm sure I can hand pick games where we looked really good and Oakland looked terrible...that is easy. And no, I don't mean to imply you have to be specific every time you post, but my point was that I didn't think we were absolutely terrible in Oakland. In other words, the Steelers aren't nearly as dire as you sometimes make them out to be.

I think that perception exists because we lost a few to them when we were clearly the better team, hence "we always lose to them." Didn't Bruce Gradkowski have a "Dan Marino" game against us? I think that was in Pgh though.

It may have something to do with west coast games. Jet lag maybe? Steelers don't play well anywhere on the west coast, except San Diego. Seahawks, 49ers and Raiders seem to always beat them.

I hope next year's Rams game is at Heinz Field. It should be since we played them at St. Louis a few years ago... before Rams moved to L.A. Still... we will have to play at Arizona and at San Fran in '19. :frown:

Yep, just watched highlights from that game (2010 in Heinz) as I was looking stuff up. After watching it, I wish I hadn't although it was a thrilling game if nothing else!

I think Watt is right, that is the perception. We are 15-13 in favor of Oakland in that series.

And 93% of those victories over the Raiders were won by Noll and Cowher at HC.

Quanify who "caved our faces in"?

Jacksonville's defense? Blake Bortles? Ben Roethlisberger? The Steelers defense? Something else?

both games I think we never led? first game had shazier so was able to mainly stop the run, but couldn't stop blake when it mattered. 2nd game we couldn't stop blake or the run.

blake for gods sakes in Pittsburgh....twice lol.

great defenses don't make pedestrian qb's look good. Rodgers, brady, Wilson.... I can understand the shredding...

First game Fournette had 181 yards, only 109 the second.

First game Bortles had 95 yards, second 214.

So I’m not sure your analysis holds up.

The Jags did what they needed on offense, but turnovers did us in for both games.

well stats aren't fully telling. Turnovers put them in position to score, and we could not hold up in the redzone or on crucial 3rds. So I guess, we failed all around collectively.

I think our west coast record is horrible, Noll or Cowher it didn't matter.

    Hmmm
With this in mind, and considering we loose to bad teams, I now see 14-2.
