    Seriously, you make a post with zero truth to it just so you can knock Tomlin one more time.

    You can do better than that.

    And so what if he doesn't play for NE anymore, wouldn't we still want to stop him if he played for another team we might play at some point? Also if they put together a player or players to stop him, wouldn't that also stop most other TEs too.:shrug::cool:

    Why would any team; indubitably the Steelers no less, build a team to stop one player? This is the equivalent of a middle class person purchasing a sports car but never using it; save one day a year.

    The team did not acquire players like Terrell Edmunds and Morgan Burnett to simply defeat the Patriots. They drafted those players to maintain their foothold atop the AFC North. As we all should know by now;

    To get a clear shot to the playoffs, you need to win your division. Simple as that. No binaries.

    A trade makes no sense on many points. But mainly Gronk was considering retiring. Try and trade him and he would retire.

    I love that the Patriots are now a team with some turmoil in the locker room. I can only hope that that bodes well for the rest of the AFC. Maybe this will be the year they go 10-6 or 11-5 and get eliminated before we even play them. Wishful thinking but sure would be nice.

    BTW. I'm not sure you can say the Steelers were drafting to stop Gronk. If you are putting a rookie on Gronk you are gonna have problems. I'm sure Edmunds will be a fine player. But being a Gronk stopper his first year is a lot to ask. Love him or hate him Gronk is a beast.

    9FD00486-FDF9-4BD9-B29D-F56EA09A81CD.jpeg I just saw where Gronkowski played his senior year of high school football in Pittsburgh (Churchill). He only had 8 catches. 4 were for touchdowns.

    Gronk was thinking of retirement and may sort of want out of NE, but I think he will play for them one more year. Brady is old, Gronk is beat up. A lot of change can happen in the relative short term going forward.

    Assuming you trade with a 'sane' team, what could NE possibly get in return? The guys great, when he plays. He's not the youngest guy in the world. He's missed a lot of time the past few yrs, and that won't get better. He's at least considering retirement, a year or two with a so-so team and he's done.

    If you're NE and someone offers you a 3rd rounder, you might as well keep him. I doubt you'd get a 2nd rounder or better. And I can't imagine that he's such a locker room cancer that you'd give him away for a 5th rounder, just to have him gone.

    moved him down here opened up new fitness business and Gronk got a full ride to ASU.

    I think the move was done more to appease a pass happy league with rules that are making it head in that direction. The Steelers FO figured they needed more hybrid type of players that can play both the pass and run to accommodate.
