For not choosing the Steelers as their team profiled this year. The fins???? Really?

Our Training Camp has some great guys in Clark and Troy. Our Backs-on-Backers is lengendary and we have some of the best Asst. Coaches out there. Add to that our Head coach and his quick verbal bites and probably the best Draft Class mixed with solid "OLD" veterans and its a hit in the making.

Yeah, they're stupid for not choosing Latrobe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Steelers would never allow them to feature our team. It's not up to Hard Knocks, it's up to the team.

While I would LOVE IT for personal reasons (more insight to our organization and preparations and overall fanatic curiosity) I can see the cameras as a major distraction and I'll sacrifice my thirst for a better regular season if it fact helps in that regard.

I tried watching a little bit of an old one on NFL network the other day. I just don't give a damn about other teams at all!!! I used to think I was a football fan first and Steelers fan second, but I realized I just don't agree with that anymore. If something tragic happened and the team dissolved, I'm sure I would still casually watch the game. Probably not every week and not with the same intensity and def not as another teams fan. It could happen, but I just don't see it. Thank my lucky stars this will never happen.

The stelerswouldnt touch this for all the money in the world. Tomlin doesn't even like camera guys to b in the locker room post game you really think he's going to let them be there in training camp. No thank let the joke teams keep doing it

The Steelers organization wold never do it. They are so grounded and one of the best organizations in organized sports. They would never let the world in on all of their secrets. If you want to see the Steelers in training camp, go up to Latrobe and check them out. If you have never been to Steelers training camp, I suggest you go at least one time so you will know. Its a great experience!

Leave hard knocks for the teams that suck. Theres a reason that the cowboys, and the bengals, and the jets, and now miami, end up on hard knocks, and the Steelers, the Giants, Green Bay, and New England don't.
The first year they did it, they had the Ravens on the year after they won the Super Bowl. Since then, its featured middle of the road teams that need publicity and a "boost". and the Bengals.
Anyhow, I heard that the Dolphins were like the 26th team they asked.

I honestly feel that the NFL should force teams to rotate through it......and I would do one team per division a year....and play one team a night on the NFL channel. Then every fan would get a chance to see their team once every 4 years.....and the NFL would have better original programming instead of airing top 10 jersey numbers

I don't think the NFL should "force" anything. It should be up to the team if they want to even do it or not.

I don't exactly take issue with Hack's suggestion. Mostly for my previously stated personal reason as well as what is being suggested has precedence in the current the NFL business model. Profit sharing, salary cap and rotating 1st round pick infusion to the lowest ranked team. As long as the owners vote for it. These are concepts we aren't normally attuned to in our society but it has a place sometimes. I just saw on some old interview where Goodell answered "YES" it is A FORM of socialism. It has worked so far to make this league the best model and most profitable and fair of the four existing major league systems out there now.

But, it has to be voted for and not forced.

Hopefully everyone keeps this on football and not a deeper political conversation. That always sucks!

Its simple the Steelers have refused in the past and want nothing to do with the show. Which I like and respect. The end!

I couldn't find a link but I swear that Tomlin said a couple years ago you would never see the Steelers on hard knocks as long as he's there.

I'm with you guys. As a fan, I would go nuts if we were on it, because it was great programming with the Jets and Bengals... but if I were in an organization there's no way in hell I let cameras in my camp if I'm a successful team. The Steelers do things differently, and you don't want to give away your "secret sauce" so to speak.

I totally understand why a team like Miami would get involved, because there's not much for the fans to get excited about, so this could drum up interest in the team... but from a completive stand point it doesn't make sense.

If the Steelers were on Hard Knocks every person on this board would watch.... Over half would DVR it and I seriously doubt anyone would be complaining.

I don't think any secrets would be revealed, after all, the Steelers would have final say on what hits the airways and let's not forget, ANYONE can and Everyone is allowed to visit training camp and watch. Even other teams officials ( special rules apply ) and media.

As far as The Steelers Org saying no to Hard Knocks, if they were even asked, I don't like it but I understand it and respect their reasons.

Bad idea if the Steelers were on it.

Gooddell would have both Harrison and Ben suspended for the 1st 8 games if the camera's were focussed in on the practices.
People are still talking about the goal line drill from 2004.
It's just too rough for ole Rog. With the concussion issue and the Seau tragedy he would make them 100% non contact. It's almost that now anyways.

I'm sure I'd rewatch it several times, but I'm glad we don't participate in it. I saw a little bit of the Jets season and remember the meetings with Revis at a diner, and I can only imagine how much Mike Wallace, Ben/Haley, <insert other media drama here> the show would chop, splice, and would ultimately be respun endlessly for the next year.
Fun, who could get tired of that?

there's less chance of the steelers agreeing to hard knocks than the bungals ever winning the super bowl ..

Ben could drop back, get rushed by Harrison, Pass Gas, knocking Harrison uncouncious whick makes him hit Ben below the knees and Gooddell would suspend both of them for lewd behavior and an illegal hit.

There is no "secret sauce" in the league.....just secret from us.

They don't need cameras in Pitt for the Colts to follow the Steelers or Ravens way of doing things...they have the Ravens DC and Steelers OC....they just have to ask.

Its a good ol boys league....players, coaches, and even management change teams all the time....you don't need to subscribe to HBO to get "the sauce"

Too much distraction for an organization like the Steelers,
Everybody on the field and in the offices better be thinking
about one thing, and that is to get to the Superbowl and WIN IT.
    Anything less is unacceptable.

Whether it exists or not, I just don't think you ever want cameras in the room while the coaches/FO are making decisions. It shows you how they tick. It's fascinating to someone like me as a fan, but I just wouldn't allow it if it were me in those meetings.

Someone mentioned training camp is open to the public, yes it is, but if you've watched the show it goes much deeper than that.

On top of all that I wouldn't want my player being taken aside for interviews and crap during practices, it's just one more distraction.

Guys like Farrior, Clark, Cotch have said we do things different in Pittsburgh. I don't want other teams seeing that. Just my opinion.

Not sure why people have such a hate-on for Hard Knocks. A part of me wouldn't want the Steelers to do it as that's just not our style and I wouldn't want to deal with the distractions, but another part of me would love to see behind the scenes film of the Steelers. It would be awesome to basically follow my team through their practices.
