The Steelers need holes filled on the defensive side but I understand why they might look at QB in the draft. Anyway, my question is what does anyone see in this guy? I watched a highlight reel along with game footage and all I see is an athlete.

I'm not trying to take away the fact that they guy can play, but he isn't even close to NFL caliber when it comes to passing, I figure he would be ok for 1/2 to maybe a full season, sort or RGIII style until he either gets hurt or teams learn to keep him in the pocket and force him to make plays with his arm.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, I have been watching this sport for a long time and certain things just don't happen. One of those things happen to be QBs with accuracy issues never really improve and run first QBs don't last long.

I'm confident we can't trade up far enough, or him drop low enough, for the Steelers to get him. I do worry though that should something happen and he does fall low enough that they might take a chance and that is what bothers me, so I'm asking you guys, why is this guy so sought after? Am I missing something from his game tape?

He is so sought after because he has the capability to create something from nothing but also turn nothing and create something. He is electrifying when everything is clicking for him. If anything, when he is dialed in, he is arguably the most dynamic playmaker in the draft

The issue is that, as it stands currently, he needs a team built around him to maximize his talents early on as he is still inefficient as a passer and decision maker. He was required to essentially carry Louisville outright. Any actual Quarterback development got stymied as a result. As such, he needs some time to learn the game itself before you unleash him.

Should he get to the right team and be developed well.... watch out. Key word is should.

I dont think his style of play would fit in the NFL, they dont want a QB who is more rusher than passer he had an amazing 4132 yards rushing and 50 TDs in his 3 years at louisville, we have seen this before with RG3, maybe a team could install some running plays for him in their offense but is he durable enough to do it against bigger faster defenders at this level???

I hope another team picks him before we do so they won’t be tempted.

Everyone thinks he might be another Michael Vick. I prefer the pocket passers so he's not a QB I would draft.

We had a running QB in Kordell Stewart. He wouldn't watch tape and learn a team's defense. Kordell would throw into triple coverage and get intercepted and Cowher would ask him why he threw into triple coverage and Kordell would say "That's the play you called." But there is always a second and third option to every play. Kordell wouldn't even attempt to read defenses.

I think the running QB's always have to have an easy first read throw to be successful because they've always counted on being able to just pull it down and run away and get yards. They don't look for the second read and can't make the throws into tight windows. With the speed of NFL linebackers and DB's it's just too difficult for a QB to run a lot.

The big networks always hype up QB's.... I overheard a NFL network show talking about how it could be a 1-2-3 QB 1st round, and I just shook my head. Personally, I think Jackson drops out of the 2nd round, maybe late 2nd, but likely 3rd/4th.... Call him Dennis Dixon 2.0

I think some team at the end of the first round will take Jackson, it better not be the Steelers though.

Steelers aren't that dumb. We pay AB alot of money to run precise routes. Lamar Jackson won't be able to throw him the ball effectively.

Jacksonville on the other hand better be taking a hard look. That would be a terrifying reality.

I'm betting Arizona takes either Baker Mayfield or Mason Rudolph.

Baker Mayfield won't last past five. Mason Rudolph won't go in the first, unless NE takes him.

Denver has to use that pick to better the team, not find a replacement for Case Keenum. They gave him a 2 yr contract so taking a QB with that high of a pick would signal that they just want Keenum for this year only.

Yep, yep it does. And if they just want the pick to improve the team, then they'll trade it to Buffalo who will pick, um, Baker Mayfield?

Trade Bell to Cleveland, so we can get Allen, then we can let watt and company Ring that Bell! I do not know what the hype is about Jackson! Please do not draft Jackson! CMON Man! I feel it would be like Kordell Stewart at the helm again!

I’d be shocked if Jackson fell to the third.
Someone will grab him if nothing more in hopes to make him a wr.
If he does drop it’ll be because his mom is his agent or something.
Heard teams are frustrated because his mom is his confidant and basically acting like his agent. So I’ll never say never.

Surprisingly Allen scored the highest on the wonderlic; I think a 37!
But he lacks accuracy and of all traits needed especially in the NFL, you need that.

The comparison to kordell is interesting, but in kordell’s defense didn’t he have like 3 different offensive coordinators.

Ravens, chargers or Redskins in the second.
