Glad to hear he showed up to get his playbook at least. You've got to hand it to Tomlin, he knows how to put things in perspective.

I think he just knows he might as well cause we gonna franchise him next year too if no deal Is done

 

Id be shocked if they are close. The Steelers don't negotiate with guys unless they show up. I know he doesn't have to yet, but if they were working towards a deal I think he'd be at OTAs.

Tomlin didn't give any impression that they aren't getting close. In fact i'd say the opposite by Tomlins comments. Tomlin also showed no ill feelings about Wallace not showing up for OTA's either. He stated that it's a business and he understands that. So i'd say they are closer to a deal than farther from one. If that makes sense :-D

 

Ed Bouchette said this morning "despite what the Steelers are saying, I fully expect Wallace to be an UFA after this season."

 

I wonder if that's from inside info or his gut feeling?

 

Why "60 Minutes"? Can someone please explain?

 

It's well known that Mike is an enormous fan of the news program 60 Minutes. In the house where he grew up in rural Mississippi with his 9 brothers and sisters, the only time he could have some alone time was by waking up in the middle of the night, sneaking downstairs, and watching TV by himself. The only station they could get was CBS and the only show on was the rerun of 60 Minutes they used to air at 1 AM. It gradually grew on him and he got really into it. If you check out Morley Safer's wikipedia page and scroll about half way to the bottom, you can see that Mike is the one that started the Morley Safer Online Fan Club back when he was in high school.

 

Shh! I want to see if he does it! :-D
