teenage mock draft

some may remember that I post this for my nephew who does this every year. while he has grown up and plays high school ball now, he wanted me to post this cause he tries to predict who they will pick. he ask if I had gotten any feedback and realized I hadn't posted it. he doesn't look at board as often since freakfontana is on here as much. he loved reading his stuff.

so I am posting this. this is more a prediction than what he wants. he wants vita vea lol

I didn't watch him either, I was going off of what some scouts are saying. He should be a option within the first 2 rounds.

 

I know there are some big ten guys out there. Cole intrests me. Some reports say he is capable of playing anywhere on the line?

 

Jessie Bates lasting that long would shock me.


He tested quite well given the circumstances. He is still no Justin Reid but as a pure free safety, you are hard pressed to find someone as good as him.


Regarding Joshua Frazier going earlier than expected, I concur as well. Overall, your nephew is quite good.

 

He needs strength training in the worst way possible. Outside of that, some quality coaching and he is a solid starter as a center.

 

I love DT Vita Vea but he's probably gone before our pick.

I like ILB Leighton Vander Esch in the 1st. He is the popular pick, fills a need.

Like S Jessie Bates in the 2nd.

DE Jalyn Holmes in the 3rd? I'm a stats guy and his stats are not good at all so I'm not a fan of taking him in the 3rd, maybe in the 5th.

Round 5, C Mason Cole, as an interior OL, we need a backup OL so I'm fine with it.

Round 5, DT Josh Frazier? I think he's probably a 7th round guy but okay.

WR Braxton Barrios in the 7th? It's a 7th so I won't criticize it. He had good production.

7th CB Avonte Maddox? I don't like to criticize 7th round picks but I think Avonte Maddox goes a couple rounds higher than this. CB is not really a need. He's a bit small but he ran a 4.40 but had very low tackle numbers this year, only 27, but 3 interceptions and an incredible 11 PBU. If he's here I would be very happy with the pick.

 

Bates can play.Whoever drafts him will get a good ballplayer.

 

I know nothing of holmes. He told me holmes was a quicker heyward lol

 

DE Jalyn Holmes is 6' 5", 283 lbs, and ran a 4.82.

DE Cameron Heyward is 6' 5", was 288 lbs, and ran a 4.95.

So, yeah, he's the same size and faster but Heyward had better production. I don't know, I could be wrong but I still think Holmes is a 5th round guy, we'll see where he goes.

The thing about these guys from Ohio st. Is the stats of individuals are not the greatest since they had so many guys making plays. There isn't one guy that stands out, they are all pretty good. The stats were spread around because they were so deep.

 

This is funny how? This has been a good defense, look at the amount of guys that will be drafted from there. There are plenty left too. Many come out early too. They are a talented bunch. They have always been top notch recruit's coming in from all over the country for a reason.

 

More than likley 5 star recruits are going to make the NFL.
