Im throwing this out here just for discussion. A buddy at work today was talking to me about our schedule this year and how we have 5 prime time games and what not. And I got to thinking about an interview I recall listening to, I believe it was during last season, and I think it was on Mike and Mike on espn and they were interviewing Troy Polamalu. They were discussing our superbowl wins against the seahawks and cardinals, but they brought up the points of our less than stellar seasons after winning the superbowl. And I remember troy saying some reasons as to why the seasons unfolded poorly and so on, but among these things, he mentioned the schedule. He said when you have a season where you win the superbowl, you tend to have an uneven schedule where its hard to get into a routine, one week you play at 1pm the next could be 8:30, or 4, or whenever. He mentioned that as a player you like to play the same times and not have to wait an extra day or have a shortened week.

Now no way am i saying our schedule in the past is the reason why we lost or had bad seasons or anything like that because thats absurd, but coming from troy, the different timing of each game obviously has some effects on the players or he wouldnt have mentioned it. This years schedule is packed full of prime time games, and other times, i believe we have three 4:15pm games that are on the east coast? Im just wondering what you guys think, I mean its probably going to be a non issue, but this intrigued me because I have never heard a player mention this type of thing in the NFL. And then I noticed our schedule and just thought I'd ask.

if a team is well prepared and motivated to win i dont think time has anything to do with it ... the only exception would be is a short week with an injury to heal... but then on the other hand is you play on 6 days rest one week you probably have 8 days the following week... i think far too much is made out of that but im sure troy knows 1000 times more about that than i do ... but i also know most players lover to play on national tv in prime time

Not related, but I hate having an early bye week...I think ours comes in week 4 which is insane...we'll need to finish the season playing 12 weeks straight

Typically, the prime time games are vs two similar playoff teams. They both have the same advantage/disadvantage. If it was a pronounced disadvantage, non playoff teams would suddenly have better records the following year. This is not the case. Good teams are good. You are what your record says you are.

Me being an antique, I hate the schedule. I prefer 1 PM EST games.
That way my nerves don't get to worked up and I don't have to wait to see
the greatest team on the planet play. Plus I work daylight hours and the next day
at work can be a long one. Oh well, it is what it is.

I'm not liking the way they've scheduled the divisional games the last 2 years. Especially this year, WTF Balt-Cleve-Balt? Can we space the Divisional games out a bit? that's 1/2 of the division games in 3 weeks.

Being the other side of the Atlantic, I also prefer the 1 PM games, as I get to watch them at a reasonable hour.

the 1 oclock games though get in the way of nascar sometimes so the 415 or 8 oclock times are fine with me

I know what you meant concerning "finishing"the season but I am in the mindset that the season is done after the Super Bowl. That would make it 15 week straight with the first round Bye!
