what happens if wallace doesn't sign his tender? do we just wait and do we have to leave a spot open for him on the 53 man squad? how does this work? it's been a while since anyone held out here, and i'm sure rules have changed with the CBA. what are the teams options?

if he holds out he doesnt count nor does this year towards FA for him. It was week 10 but i now heard its week one under the new rules. Also he has roughly a month to sign or the steelers can reduce his tender by 2.2 million

I haven't read the new CBA rules. But from what I understand the players got hosed.

Here's me staying out of another Wallace thread, but...

It does make you wonder what initiative there is for him to keep holding out at the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised. DeMaurice Smith seems to excel at empty rhetoric more than anything else.

It's his career, but part of getting big money and a lot of looks in FA is that you are a team player and work hard. Not showing up for mini camp does not bode well for him in the long run.
Also I think RFA is a joke they should have to at least honor their first contract!

I'll agree with the players having to honor their 1st contract, as soon as the teams have to honor the contracts also. Right now, a team can sign a player to a contract and cut him the very next day with little to no repercussions.
