whats your day one D-Line look like? i think cam heyward overtakes ziggy hood as a starter. i think mclendon starts, but fills in as a second DE and Moo comes in pretty regular. casey plays but the knee gives him fits. 6 weeks PUP. starters are heyward,mclendon,keisel.... backups.. casey,Moo,hood. we only keep 6 after week 6. corbin bryant gets the spot for the first 6 weeks. this allows them to keep an extra player at another position. mclendon plays backup DE and starting NT. weston and bryant on the PS. maybe the new udfa, i'm not even trying his name. :) . what's yours?

The only player that has earned a starting role is Kiesel,
as for the other positions and how they are rotated will be interesting.
I am going to enjoy the training camp battles. I too feel Heyward
is going to see alot more playing time this year. We must generate more of a
pass rush from our D lineman.

I'd go Keisel, Heyward, then Hood interchanging with McClendon, Hampton and Heyward respectively.

I'd like to see a lot of rotation on the line - we need to keep Keisel healthy, and can give Moo some reps if he stands out in camp. I think Heyward will also out perform Hood in camp, but maybe not enough to wrest the starting position from him enough.

I don't see the need to cut Hampton after camp (Wallace will have been signed by then, or sitting out), so we wouldn't gain anything... especially if there are no Nt FAs to come in and fill the spot.

And it is a very big spot to fill...

every $$$ you save this season is more cap nxt year to sign brown andsanders (rule now you can carry cap space in next year cap)
hapmton was already almost done last season and after the injurie i don't see a lot of value on him

I don't see Ziggy being benched for Heyward. If Heyward shows a ton of improvement and forces his way onto the field, they can split time evenly with Ziggy and Keisel. A three man rotation keeps them all equally fresh instead of leaving energy on the sideline, and Heyward will ultimately be groomed to play Keisel's spot on the right.

No way Ta'amu starts. If Hampton can go, he will. If not, McLendon.

No way Hampton gets cut...he took a pay cut to stay....You cut him now that sends a bad message to the locker room...You cut a respected vet after he sacrificed to stay...you won't see any other vets ever reworking contracts.

    The Beard, Heyward
    Hampton, Mclendon, Taamu
Ziggy, and I still like Kade Weston.
