Hopefully this team reminds us of the 90s broncos that had there heart broken 2 years in a row before they won back to back sbls and elway retired. They were 14 pt favorites against jags at home and jags ripped there heart out then came back following year and destroyed jags in first rd and went on to win first of 2 sbls.

Not with this defense in it's current shape. A lot needs to happen in the offseason if the Steelers are gonna make a run in '18.

True but denvers defense was not great. They would often get out to big leads and then just lean on teams. As a matter of fact we went up and down the field on that team and should have won that game but that guy ( I wont even say his name) puked it up 3 x in endzone.

I was thinking the Jax game reminded me of that Denver vs Jax game too. Lots of similarities

Atwater, romanowski, seth joyner, abd trev ,price are far better players than everyone on this defense. Plus Shannahan was a better head coach than Tomlin.

All we need is some new talent on D and an entirely better D staff and scheme. Someone hold Rooney's beer.

Yes better than ours but all those players were past prime. Denver defense was not great by any stretch

Didn't say itvwas great but it was solid. They made stops when needed. They were a veteran bend but don't break defense.

This defense did as well until it lost Shazier. The Steelers defense was basically built around his playmaking ability much like it was with Troy. The biggest difference is if Troy wasn’t there the rest of the defense was still really really good. We lost the key player to our scheme and before that the defense was pretty solid.

Disagree completely. Great as troy was the defense as a whole was great. And we were shutting people down back then. No way on that 2000s defense would someone like Brett Hundley or brissett put up numbers on us. Shazier couldn't make up for that horrible secondary we had that was getting torched all year. Now teams wouldn' have been running on us like that and we also have to as of now judge the defense as it is because it isn' like shazier is coming back and if he does it isn't anytime soon.

I said the defense was really good without him but it was a whole different animal with him. Losing Shazier is what killed this defense. In the playoff game against the Jags he intercepts at least one if not both passes that Spence almost got his hands on. Without him we lost a very rare guy that could truly go sideline to sideline. Shazier was a big part of our coverage in the middle. You remove him and now you have to have safeties worrying about the middle. I mean good lord Gay was lining up at ILB in some formations. Do you really think he is there if Shazier is out there. Was it stupid to design a defense around one huh probably but when that guy is an athletic freak like Shazier it’s hard not to.
