this may be the most depth we have had top to bottom in camp for years. there are going to be some really good camp battles. with the new offense, everyone will be learning the new stuff at the same time. not so much on defense in our base, but if he's working on new wrinkles they will be and alot of spots are open for competition. i'm really excited about this year. we are loaded with talent.

I've seen the potential in Heyward, he is going to shine BIG TIME next year.

I was surprised the article said he starts though? I feel he should start, but does he send Ziggy to the bench or send the Beard into an early retirement????

Last year's draft was pretty good, no? Apart from Williams, they're all still here, and most of them at least in a position to challenge for a starting spot. Camp is going to be interesting indeed.

Bleacher report is fun but sometimes I think these guys are completely clueless. He says Gilbert may get time at RT this year, when he's already going into camp as the starting LT.

I'm really excited about seeing our two rookie DB's this season.

He may be extrapolating from Tomlin's quote in the rookie camp interview:
Granted it's a bit of a leap to go from "where he'll begin here" to "he's now our starting left tackle" but there was another article indicating a strong interest in getting milage out of the rookie OL guys. I'm (very) far below the norm on football IQ for this board but I gotta believe that after years of patching together an oline, Kugler probably wants to assemble a line based on people's expertise rather than who happens to be sitting on the bench at the time. While I may not have the football smarts to evaluate these guys' skills, I certainly can appreciate (from the perspective of my own professional experience) the difference between hiring someone who has evident skills & experience for a position vs some who is merely adequate. Ok... maybe that gets a "captain obvious badge" :superman:

Doesn't say anything about Gilbert not starting at LT though (which Tomlin has said).

I don't think anyone has any delusions of Adams coming in an kicking ass. Even as a 1st rounder I though Adams was a big project (which is why I didn't want him in round 1).
