I'm so pissed at our defense. we really need a more discipline defensive coordinator. butler has not done a good job. no penetration on run defense and no pass rush.

What you're seeing is a copy of a copy of the old 3-4 zone, "no rush, no cover" defense. Tailor made for a quarterback like Bortles. They need to fire the entire coaching staff and start over.

the defense has been very suspect the entire season and they were exposed today. defense never had a dominate performance the entire season. we have talent but they are always out of position and miss tackles. it's all the coaches.

Let me start by saying that this rant is not just because of the game today. I have never been a fan of Mike Tomlin or Todd Haley. So the question is, does the front office make some needed changes in the coaching staff or not? Will Ben retire?

I don't think you fire Munchak, but other than that everyone is fair game.

I want Butler tied up on a rail and carried out of town before nightfall

Since Ryan Shazier got hurt in that Monday night football game against the Bengals, the Steelers defense has been very suspect. I am pissed on how the defense played against the Jaguars today.

Spot on! I said this to a few friends over the course of the season. They have to fire Butler so that they can abandon Lebeaus concept that Butler is imitating but it lacks the discipline of sound tackling, gap assignments , spacing, and angles.
I'm happy rookies are seeing the field BUT you have to get someone else in here and let them build it the way they want

Butler has created a defense that is soft against the run.

The excuse was we are giving up something to be better in pass defense.

    BUT I'M NOT BUYING IT.

I like butler. I don't like this defense. offenses have figured it out and with the new rules it don't work. look. tomlin is a tampa 2 man. run it. you have good corners with length. get a a good safety and mlb. suck it up and make the switch and I cant believe I just said that

I'm not sure we need to replace Butler, maybe we do, but we need a scheme change for sure.

This defense is a clear showcase of why stats don't tell the whole story.

We had a team record for sacks, but has anyone else really felt we had a feared pass rush all season long? I never did.

Our OLB's are no longer pass rushers, and Heyward and Tuitt disappear often in games.

    Where does that leave us?

We need to have an honest look at the entirety of the defense. Even with Shazier it had HUGE problems.

I would take Rex Ryan as DC in a heartbeat and then I would hire Mcdaniels as HC/OC kill two birds with one stone and also weaken the cheats...

The Leneau D's took a pounding this weekend. His system is an anachronism that should be putout to pasture. Kiser throwing for over 300 yards should have been a sign.

A new scheme change is what is needed for the defense.

For the offense, it is Haley's time to face the music.

How about a new general manager who can draft top shelf players.
