Let's revisit some of the great Steelers playoff games from the past. No Superbowls to be included here. Just playoffs.

My favorite was the 2008 AFCCG with the Troy Polamalu 40 yard interception return for a TD. I was 11 rows from the field in the corner of the end zone.

Probably the Colts game where Bettis fumbled. Such a roller coaster of emotions

I attended the first game- in fact was very close to you Wardsway- and have vivid memories of the second- especially how everyone on the "old board" gave up on the Steelers chance of winning (well almost everyone...)

But I will go back- way back- to the Steelers beating the Raiders 16-10 in the 1975 AFC Championship game. I own a tape of that game and it defies easy description. A must see.

    Honorable mention-

1989- Gary Anderson beating the Oilers in OT on New Years Eve, a game great for the soul.
1984- the huge upset of the Broncos by the Mark Malone Steelers.
1976 the 40-14 rout in Baltimore over the favored Colts, after which a plane crashed into the stands.

It's gotta be being young and watching the "Immaculate Reception" game in a houseful of Raider fans!

Many to choose from from my youth in the 70’s, but I’ll go with the 2010 divisional round win vs the Ravens. 31-24. I believe we trailed 21-7 in that one after allowing a defensive score.

For my mom and dad, after 30 years as season ticket holders and watching them loose, they finally won the AFC championship game and we’re going to the super bowl. I had never seen my mother so excited.

Without a doubt, the 2006 victory over Peyton Manning's Colts in Indianapolis. The memory that most stands out to me is that my wife's grandmother called right around the time of the Bettis fumble. She was calling for my wife, but she wasn't home. Now this woman had never had a real conversation with me on the phone before that phone call, nor would she ever converse with me on the phone again. (She passed away a year or so later.) But for some reason, she just wanted to keep talking that day, and I was doing all I could to pretend to listen without shouting into the phone. She talked through the rest of the game, and if you had asked me a minute after hanging up what she had said, I wouldn't have been able to tell you as I was trying to recover from the strain.

For me its easy, Superbowl 43, 3 HUGE emotional turns in that game, up 10-7 and Deebo gets the pick of the century! Seems to put the game out of reach at half time, Then Fitzy goes for 64 yard TD bomb that just destroys every black and gold fan's heart, until Ben and Santonio get to work and cap off the incredible drive with a beauty toe tap, I was only 22 years old, I felt like I aged 20 years in that game and it was the last time I shed a tear not ashamed to admit!

Watching the Immaculate Reception as a 10 year old was it for me. I became a Steelers' fan in 1971 because I liked the name "Mean" Joe Greene. I stayed a Steelers' fan because of Franco's catch and TD run.

This one for me. I'll never forget Ben's shoestring tackle that saved the game.

Immaculate Reception really got me into the Steelers even though I attended a game in the 60's and did follow them a little but the Pirates ruled the Burgh in the 60's and I was more into them as a youngster.

Playoff game I'll always remember was when the great Tommy Maddox led us to 22 4th qtr. points, getting the game winning TD with 54 seconds left to beat the Browns (yes the Cleveland Browns were in the playoffs and kicking our butts most the game).

I liked the ones where Steelers dominated.

    Jan '95 victory over Browns
    Jan '96 victory over Bills
    Jan '97 victory over Colts
    Jan '02 victory over Ravens
    Jan '06 victory over Broncos

I miss those type of playoff games. Tired of having near heart attacks for every playoff game.

Edit: Jan '17 victory over Dolphins

January 18th 2009. Heinz Field. Beating the hated crows. Being there was the icing. And the snow flurries made it all that sweeter...

    Then the rest is history

I would really enjoy all blowout wins this postseason.

Boring out of reach by the 3rd or 4th

    In person:
    1. 2008-09 AFC Championship game-I've been to a lot of Steelers games, and after Troy ran that ball back for the pick 6 INT, that stadium, damn near lifted off the ground.
There are many that come in a close 2nd for me. 2010-11 Divisional round against the Ravens, with the AB helmet catch was a really good one.

    On TV-
    1. 2005-06 divisional round against the Colts. That game took 10 years off my life. Really thought we had no chance of beating them, and we did.
The 2008-09 Super Bowl against the Cards is a close 2nd.

There have been some really great games mentioned on here. When I think I got it narrowed down someone goes and posts about another game that brings back memories. I just learned I have the inability to just pick one.
