He has a nose for the ball and is on a mission to find it when on green. He's fun to watch and i think he may be a fan favorite in the very near future. This board included. He's perfect for kickoff coverage, like a little missile seek and find the ball. Watch him go!

I think we're going to be chatting him up here, if nothing else on ST.

 

I see Spence flying up the middle to wreck Flacco while Ta'amu eats up two blockers. Maybe not this year, but its coming and it has me pretty pumped for Steelers football right now!!!

I think this is what LBers look like in the not too distant future. NE really didn't hurt teams with recievers, it was the TEs that were too fast for LBers to cover and too big for DBs to tackle and Spence is the counter measure, enough speed to run with TEs and RBs out of the backfield yet still enough bulk to tackle them, he might end up surprising a lot of people and I think he will develop into a great player.

 

Everybody is acting like this dude is some pip squick. He weighs the same as sly and 3 pounds less then timmons when he showed up here. He is a tad shorter so really bulk wise he is about the same. I remeber reading an article about how when we played the cards in the super bowl farrior weight was way down like in the low 220s. 6' 231 isn't small. Yes if you watch his game tape he looks small but he played at like 218. If he can put on 9 more pounds of muscle this year he will look like a beast out there

 

he was also a HS teamate of levonte david. that would have been an impressive tandum to coach in HS.

I have been saying the steelers need to improve their nickel, especially the pass rush. Maybe they are saying the heck with the nickel, we will develop a cover linebacker and keep the 3-4 base in more for the improved pass rush. Sounds good.

How about the 2-4 nickel with 2 huge nose tackles as the d-line?...

 

Thing about the kid is in school he closes and dodges traffic to get to that ball even at scrimmage! A seek and destroy type that fans digg. How will he do at the next level? We'll find out I guess but at minimum his style will be great for kickoffs and if that's all we get it's still a win.

We'll see...

exactly.

 

I trust what I see onthe field and the guy is a ball player Period! It's the coaches job to get him on the field and correct position and then turn him loose.

 

the kids smart and can play football. his hearts in it as well as his head and he's athletic. i'm not worried about the bench press numbers. he had a bad shoulder at the combine and lifted anyway. he's stronger then that. he has football speed and his recognize and get to the football skils are fantastic. i'm not concerned about that extra inch of hgt. put a longer cleat on him.
