Mike Tomlin says AB has a "significant lower leg contusion". He's out for the week, but won't speculate further.

I thought when Shazier went down our SB chances went with him. I still believe we can't beat NE without him, hell we probably could not beat them with him. Take AB out of the picture and we could be knocked out in our first playoff game.

Injuries do matter in sports and I was convinced the Eagles were done when Wentz went down, now I'd say they have a great chance for home field advantage in playoffs.

At present moment I am guessing the SB will be Aholes against Vikings. Home field advantage in a SB has to be huge.

That is part of why the bye is so important. It would give him nearly four weeks of recovery time before he'd have to take the field again.

3 weeks to be exact, but yeah I don't see it either. If he does, he's not going to be any where near 100%.

I wouldn't be shocked if his season is done, but the Steelers don't want to admit it yet. The guy really hasn't been injured much, so we don't know how quickly he heals.

Yeah, that’s all very true. I’m hoping he can at least come back and give us a little. I do think we have the talent to win without him. Getting Haden back, especially if we DO play the Pats, is massive.

I think what he means is that the divisional playoff game is 28 calendar days from the injury.

However you figure he’d have to be in practice early that week to play.

    So you are both correct

Well the Jags are down by 10 so far so the bye is still hopeful if we lose a game between now and then.

If Jacksonville loses today and the Steelers win tomorrow.. the Steelers will clinch no worse than the number two seed and the first round bye.

If that is true, it's safe to say the Steelers have about a 5% chance to freeze in Minnesota. Sure wish we had Shazier. Such a huge loss. I see the Aholes have the Jets left to play. NE will get two home games and it is a good possibility we could have a re-match. Which means I sit for 3 hours, head looking down and hoping someone can beat them in SB.

I had this injury about 5 years ago. I got hit in the calf with a baseball. It is super painful. Took about a week before I could walk without severe pain. After a couple weeks I could walk and jog fine. Going up and down stairs was the worst. I could pretty much do anything after a few weeks or so, but I still would have some discomfort months later.

I haven't had that exact injury, but I've had my share of leg problems in recent years. I had reconstructive surgery on my right foot in June and now I've got a torn meniscus that will require surgery in my left knee. I'm at the point where I'm fine most of the time and I barely have a limp, but the stairs are still a big problem.

Now if someone can take a baseball bat to those two ****heads in New York who keep taking touchdowns away from teams that play the patriots.

This is like that time TO was injured for the Eagles and had a great Super Bowl,

It's interesting how some leg injuries seem debilitating at first but heal up quick. I had a bruise a couple months ago from playing basketball that was right on the bony prominence where the calf attaches and my leg almost immediately seized up and I had a significant limp for about a week but was basically 100% better after like 10 days total. Hopefully this is that kind of bruise.

What is encouraging is the fact that he’s walking & climbing stairs on it. Let’s look at the positive here. Theirs still plenty of hope he’s back by divisional round.
