Love this response by Harrison. I still don't have a problem with what the Steelers did, but I respect how he's handling it.

No, he really isn't better than Dupree. If he was, he'd be playing. He sure as hell wouldn't have been cut.

Um, you realize the article you posted is from where they released him in 2013 don't you?

Anyway, I was very surprised by this but not shocked. Would have liked to have seen him ride out with another Super Bowl ring. I know he's been making some comments recently about wishing he had signed elsewhere, etc. Do you think the Steelers were concerned about his complaining being a detriment to team chemistry?

I don't think it is a detriment, but it does erode the only value he has had for this team much of the season. If he's not going to be a positive in the locker room and he can't seem to earn his way back onto the field, what value does he bring?

McCullers is not needed, even for depth.... He has how many snaps this year???

Spence is a joke and was unemployed when Shazier was hurt for a reason!!!

James violent history ??? He made a mistake, once , and you paint him as if it was a way of life..... That was 9 years ago!!!

Forgiveness is a basis of a life full of grace and joy..... Good thing your standard of one mistake defines your entire life applies only to you.

Because it's water under the bridge brother... What's next, when Ben goes we gonna drag the lake on him too?

Believe me, I always call out the douchery of players etc... But that ship has sailed and this ain't a yahoo comment board!

Loyalty is great, but not when it gets in the way of winning. Harrison is a player on the team and he deserves what he earns, nothing more.

Spence is a starter. Harrison wasn't playing. That is a no-brainer.

You can argue McCullers if you like, but the Steelers clearly see more value in him than they do in Harrison.

Harrison has more than one violent incident in his history, though the others came before he became a Steeler. It wasn't one mistake. Also, it's a hell of a mistake. Imagine if that was your daughter he assaulted after bashing down a locked door to get his hands on her.

I'm sure depth at nt played a huge role in the decision. However, take the emotion out of it. Forget that Harrison has been a fan favorite for years. The fact they kept people like McCullers and hunter over Harrison should be pretty telling.

No, it is a board for fans and I understand my view of Harrison is unpopular. I just think some people here want to look at only the positive and forget all that he has been. You are free to put aside the parts that make you uncomfortable. But times like these are exactly when water under the bridge is part of the discussion.

Regarding Roethlisberger, yes, when his career is over his off-field problems should be part of the discussion. My daughter recently asked for a Steelers' jersey. She asked if she could get Roethlisberger, Brown or Bell. I told her that I won't buy a Roethlisberger jersey and I told her why. She ended up settling on Brown and she's quite happy with that jersey.

I respect the hell out of Roethlisberger's game and the Steelers have been lucky to have the guy all this time. I hope he succeeds because that means the team will have a much better chance at success. But I do cringe a little bit when I see young girls wearing his jersey because I haven't forgotten that part of his history.

I can't see that happening. He's too high profile a player to bounce around like he did when he was cut by the Steelers and the Ravens a half dozen times (or so) early in his career. He's got way too much pride at this point to be used as a personnel pawn. He's done. Love Deebo and he'll always hold a special place in Steelers' lore.

If we dump McCullers we have no one to play NT if Hargrave gets injured.

And I can respect the hell out of that! However, I don't believe Ben's dealings were so piggish and one sided. Might just be me, but when I explain things to my daughters as well I Include the dumb ***** side of life as well. Don't take me wrong at all please... I just handle things similarly different.

If we are relying on McCullers to fill in for Hargrave we are in deep ****.....I think they go Alualu or Walton if the need arises. I would think if McCullers was a viable option he would of been playing some. He doesn't play at all and is inactive pretty much every week....idk.

WTF does Harrison's past and off field personal life have to do with him being cut or playing? Geez.

To each their own, but I'm not vilifying a guy for getting accused of something. I have a friend from high school who spent 6 months in jail for rape. He only got out in 6 months because the girl came forward and admitted she lied because she didn't want her boyfriend to think she cheated on him. I don't remember how much, but she got some time in jail over it. Changed the guys life forever. Now that's a rare occurrence. But we should actually be teaching others that you shouldn't be discriminated against just because you were accused of something.
My wife wears a Roethlisberger jersey all the time.

Name the other offenses with links please.....

Again, a slap, dropped charge, 9 yrs ago and model citizen, father and Husband ( to the girlfriend ) ever since. And she's no push over or victim.... She's an attorney who has started her own law firm !!!!!

    Yeah, he's a horrible person.

Spence has played horrible and shouldn't be on the team....

Maybe JH gets picked up by the Pats in a cheatriot way of getting info, JH holds out for a promise of starting.

JH starts to practice and in the first full practice dips under and around their left tackle. As he closes in on Brady's blind side he remembers so many lost season's so instead of letting up he blows up Brady with a hit that would get him fined.

Walks off the field and tells Bill "I think I 'll retire now."

I can absolutely see the Patriots claiming him. It will only cost them $70K and why not take a flyer and see if they get lighting in a bottle for the last 3-5 games of their season. The one area NE has major issues is DL and OLB and BB has spoken highly of Harrision in the past.

Apparently turning ones life around has no merit for Formerscribe. And lets be clear, Ben was boorish but thats it. Hardly the worst human being he was painted as by many.

And I think Cajun covered JH succinctly enough.
