I'm wondering how in the world anybody could make that call in that game situation. I mean when I as an average fan see a 2nd and 23 the last person I'm handing the ball to is the slowest RB on the team on a delayed draw. It just makes no sense and I can't believe an OC would call such garbage. I can't say for sure that Todd called it or Ben did but that should be heavily addressed by Tomlin to make sure it doesn't happen again. It was really the beginning to the end of the Steelers chances of winning that game. Ultra conservative cost us that game more than the refs did. Yea, they may have ultimately cost us the game with the called back TD but you have to be super aggressive to beat the Pats and running that play was almost waving the white flag and surrendering your chances.

They played not to lose and against the greatest QB of all time that is insane. I think they are just in our heads so bad we fold.

I asked in the game day thread, and I'll ask again...why do we have no screen game? You'd think with Bell and our athletic line we would be great at that.

Is it due to lacking a blocking TE?

Why is this bum ( Tuissant) on the team? His ass should've been left in Denver after fumbling the playoff game away.

We have a bubble screen to Bryant with that beast Rogers as the blocker used that play twice last week and it failed both times. That play with that personnel is as stupid as expecting a practice squad RB to rip a big gain on 2nd and 23.
Tony Romo said what I was thinking at the time why take the ball out of Ben's hand when a few first downs and a field goal probably wins the game.
Our Offensive line is very good in space and are athletic but they are not road graders that blow people off the LOS. A couple of times late in the game the Pats stacked the box and we run up the middle for no gain, great scheme.

That was a bad play call, but the situation was a tough one. I would have preferred a short to mid-range pass on second down, to see if they can give themselves a shot on third. If you're going to run a draw, Bell has to be on the field. Otherwise, it really is just a waste of a play.

The larger issue was the three-and-out. Running the ball on first down was a terrible decision. Too predictable and too easily stopped by the defense. They needed to trust Roethlisberger there.
