A shame he had so little opportuinities. However, he made the most out of them and will come back stronger, as he has shown previously.

Meantime, looks like we need to sign someone from the street.

    DeAngelo??

I don’t think DWill wants to play for league minimum and that’s likely what the Steelers would offer. They can call up Watson from the PR.

They are not as serious as an ACL, but it all depends on the severity of the injury! Having had 20 knee operations, I can tell you that a partial tear is better than a complete tear! However, the problem falls back on how much swelling he has in the knee and how sore he is after surgery! It can be a nagging injury, but he should recover in 2 - 4 weeks...6 weeks worst case scenario which would end his season!!

I imagine Watson gets the recall.

    Other guys out there?

    Ryan Matthews
    Tim Hightower
    Karlos Williams

I doubt anyone but an ex Steeler gets brought in at this point though.

Williams was on NFL network last week - he wants to play but was clear he wasn't playing for the min.

I think D Will would answer the call... Not gonna say it's necessary at this point. Loved when he was here tho and wished we had a few seasons earlier.

One look at Bell’s history says that you always need to have a spare ready to go, and, apologies to Fitz, but I just don’t trust him to be a #1 RB. I don’t care what it takes, sign D’Angelo now. If he can give this team even a fraction of what he gave us the last 2 years, that would be great.

Did you see him get worse and worse running out kickoffs, we have to watch this again for the next couple of games because we are slow to make changes.

From what I understand, this injury is to the opposite knee from the one he hurt at Pitt.

That's reasonably serious surgery on both knees. Not a great way to start an NFL career. Poor guy, doesn't get many breaks.

Damn. DWill is the obvious choice to replace him.

Poor Conner I got his jersey, poor guy finally gets some carries, and then that happens.

I would imagine Watson would be back with Fitz. Pray to lord nothing happens with Bell.

Poor guy. He was tackled by his neck (even though clothesline tackles have been illegal for years) after a nice 8-9 yard gain and my wife was yelling at the tv that they had to throw a flag on that...

I say, "they will never call that on the Patriots in a million years"...

Seconds later, they did throw a flag...

My wife is beaming at this point. "Justice at last!", she says...

    Holding on Al Villanueva

Next play Conner's season is ended.

I hate the Patriots, but I hate the refs so much more.

Karlos Williams? He had his opportunity and blew it. He was on the roster and was suspended for 10 games for the violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Yeah, be surprised if it's not Dwill!

He knows all the keys and the blocking assignments.

Like I said earlier, don't know that it's necessary and I think he'd answer the call... But I wouldn't hate the move either.

With the strange moves they have made it would surprise me if they sign Davis or BBD back before even thinking about calling DWill

I have been disappointed in the Steelers, on how little they used Conner,

I was hoping for 5-10 snaps a game? Oh well next year. Did I mention I am Pitt homer?

Watson will be recalled, he's a big back 6-1 240 just what you need to pound defenses in cold weather........

I'm with you, I was hoping for more, although he did look good and had a good carry per average.

Just hard when Bell is probably the best 3 down back in the league.
