My Steeler fan cred only goes back to 1972. However, I beg to differ on the title of your post. You should know better- we never bowed to Oakland or Dallas in the 1970's, to Denver and Houston in 1984 and 1989 respectively, and to the Colts et al in 2005. I will agree that the inability to beat the Brady Patriots is frustrating- but who else has been successful against them? Sometimes it makes me realize what being an Oilers or Raiders fan in the 1970's was like...

This isn't as good a team as any of the 1970s SB teams- but I would not rank too many other editions of the franchise ahead of this year's version. This is a team that has won 20 of its last 23 games. Never surrender until the shots are fired.

FWIW, I live in New England and know many Pats fans. I haven't met one all week that isn't scared about this game.

    This absolutely infuriates me! :frustrated:

"Inside a room accessible only to Belichick and a few others, they found a library of scouting material containing videotapes of opponents' signals, with detailed notes matching signals to plays for many teams going back seven seasons. Among them were handwritten diagrams of the defensive signals of the Pittsburgh Steelers, including the notes used in the January 2002 AFC Championship Game won by the Patriots 24-17. Yet almost as quickly as the tapes and notes were found, they were destroyed, on Goodell's orders: League executives stomped the tapes into pieces and shredded the papers inside a Gillette Stadium conference room."

Hope we can settle the score TODAY and in the playoffs! Time to step it up and protect the Steeler legacy of being the only team with 6 Lombardi trophies. We stand in the way of Brady, Belicheat and the Pats, we can stop their pursuit of history so let's go out there and TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS!

I think we crush the Pats today.

But we got to be careful. Pats might be playing the long game. They will play some vanilla stuff in this game, and then go crazy in the Playoffs with different wrinkles.

I don't the think the Pats will go "vanilla" today. We'll get their best shot. They want home-field throughout as much as we do.

I’ve had both views this week - had a sense they might play the long game and hope vanilla does it; but then like you I don’t think they’ll want to lose home field. And not just because it’s easier to cheat there: they just aren’t as dominant or healthy as they’d want to be right now.

see there is no originality, steelers cant play when they face the almighty pats, Brady can do whatever he wants, Bell trips on nothing
