I think if that's the case then announce Brown the #1 receiver and Sanders #2 and J.Chochery in the slot. Wallace can ride the pines for that money if he wants to be disruptive. Remember the sweat suite Running back Staley. That's whats wrong with these kids this type of holding out used to by seasoned Vet's now 2-3 year guys think they can do it also. Take a #2 & 5 pick and cut him loose.

I feel like everyone's making this out to be a bitter dispute of some kind, and it's not. The two sides will negotiate, and either they'll reach a long-term agreement, or they won't and Wallace will sign the tender and play one more year. He won't miss time (except maybe OTAs), and it doesn't really sound like he intends to.

Meanwhile, the Steelers will do what they always do, and play like he isn't there. Then when he comes back, he'll be there. I don't think it's such a big deal.

It's a BIG deal if he acts like a DIVA like he's acting like right now! Someone (Harrison) neds to punch him in the mouth and just say, "wake the %^$& up and play ball! If Wallace bitches and moans this year and has a down year, his Free Agency value will go down for next year!

It was actually a joke of long ago when every game Staley walked the sidelines in sweatpants while we were paying him, Just a reference that Wallace will be doing the same if he don't sign his tender ( just not on the field)
    Just humor.

Who is this "Staley" of whom you write? Are you talking about the infamous Deuce Stanley who used to beat off defenders?

Gotcha. I kind of saw the connection, but was probably in a pedantic mood.

The other day I was watching an old dvd of the SB40 season, and I realised that it's actually quite unnerving to see Staley in a proper uniform, such is my image of him in his sweats.

It really is business and a lot of players handle business matters like this every season. We all want him to take what is offered, shut his mouth, and play Steelers football. But not everyone is like that and i'd be willing to bet there's a good portion of the current roster that would be doing the exact same thing as Wallace is right now if they were in his shoes. DeShawn Jackson is a Diva. If Wallace walks down that path then you can say he's being a diva. As of right now, he's playing ball, business style.

Besides, does anyone here know what the Steelers have offered him? Other than his tender, which is like 2.7 mil, I haven't heard any reports of what the Steelers have offered him long term. Maybe they haven't. So before we call Wallace out we should (not going to happen though most likely) know what the other side is bringing to the table. If it's a junk deal then who can really blame Wallace for not signing his tender?

In Wallace's case, first of all some of you really should be on meds. He's not going anywhere this year except on deep routes. Secondly, you bring up a quote Mike Tomlin made in Wallace's first year (one-trick pony) as if he hasn't improved at all the last two years. Thirdly, really? He's over the hill because his production fell off the second half of last season? When Ben was hurt and Antonio Brown had 860+ yds receiving?
He wants more money. We'll give him more money. He's worth a lot more than $2.7 million. If someone from another company offered to triple your pay, you'd be gone in a second. He signs his tender, he attends OTAs in June. Anything earlier than that, he gets hurt, he's SOL. Hines held out over a contract (you remember him, the Steeler way, dedicated to the team and all that). Let the guy get his payday from us. He's earned it.
And what the hell is with the Deuce Staley stuff. He wasn't holding out, he was just injured the whole time we had him on contract.

I know who should be on the Meds, this whole thing was just a running joke that some on the board understood nothing serious.
WOW I thought we all were fans and could have a good time chatting. EXCUSE ME!

Come on, man, it's APRIL - the most SERIOUS, IMPORTANT and DRAMATIC month of the year for any successful franchise. No wonder we're all so stressed.
