So, we sit at 5-2. It's about where most of us thought we would be, although, per usual, not in the manner we expected it. Of the two losses, most of us thought it would be from KC and Balt, or Cinci. Nope. Losing to the Bears and Jags was not expected, but in fairness, since those games both of those teams have proven better than most realized.

    So now what?

@Det. Another NFC team on the road, which is not our best venue for wins. They have been up and down, going 3-3, with their most impressive win vs. MN, the other two vs. bad NY and AZ teams. I actually don't think that much separates these two teams. Our D seems better, giving up 16 points per game vs. their 25. On offense, they score more with 27 ppg vs our 21. I think they need the game more than we do. That could be the difference, that, and the fact we play like poop vs NFC on the road (see the Bears game). L. 5-3.

    BYE

@Indy. Now it appears Luck won't be back. They are a bad team without him. W. 6-3.

TN. Prime time game at him. TN has not progressed as many predicted. We win. 7-3.

GB. Another prime time game at home and NO ROGERS. We win. 8-3.

@Cinci. Push comes to shove, we win. Dalton folds. 9-3.

Balt. Prime time again. This could be Ravens pride game, so who knows. Due to lose one around this time so IDK. Let's say W. 10-3.

NE. L. They seem to be getting back on track. Brady will shred us. L. 10-4.

@Hous. Watson is working miracles for a rookie. L. 10-5.

    Cleve. W. 11-5.

It's still a long road but anything less than a Championship will be a disappointment with the amount of talent that we have. Stay healthy, stay focused and crush Brady along the way.

I care most about New England. The other games can take care of themselves.

Should we take down New England then the stairway to seven will be all the better. Should we fall.... well.....

Losses to Detroit, N.E. and Cinci. 11-5, third seed as K.C. takes first with a 12 -4 record, NE also at 12- 4.

7 weeks in, it looks like NE & KC are the lone competition for a bye and home field advantage.

Don't lose the games we are supposed to win, and we'll finish with 12+ wins.
If KC loses 2 more, we'll get a bye.
If NE loses one, and against us, we get the home field advantage. Otherwise, we need them to have one more loss than us.

Must Wins (also known as trap games for the Steelers): Bal, Cin, Ten, Det, GB, Ind
    Fate shaping: NE, Hou*

*This one could fall in Trap Game category: We'll face a seasoned Watson, no longer an unproven rookie.

How about we take one game at a time, I'm sure fans counted the Jax and Bears games as wins .

I predicted when the schedule debuted in April... the Steelers would lose to the Bears. Tomlin-era defeats to lesser teams are so easy to predict.

Steelers will lose to the Titans here in a few weeks, too.

Patriots will not lose another game. They will go 14-2 and get the #1 seed. Steelers are pretty much screwed.

This is actually scarier than it appears since BSF is still comfortably sitting in 1st place in the Pickem (and I didn't see green font in the post). :noose:

One thing for sure beware the injury bug. Lose a starting QB and chances are gone. (see Green Bay) If I had to pick 3 teams from each conference who have best shot at SB at present moment it would be:

    AFC: Idiots, Chiefs and Steelers

NFC: Hated Eagles, Seahawks and Cowboys

This could all change in a few weeks.

    15-1.

board of nfl reviews there WAS an intentional hold on haden for the OT run in Chicago. So in the new rules any penalty that doesn't get called in OT grants the other team the victory.

We will win 12 or more games, we will beat the patriots at home and that will set the tone for the rest of the year. Our D is starting to jell and will only get better. Cam Sutton will come in and add even more depth and athleticism to the defense. We could see Keion Adams if we end up needing dept at LB, he has a motor and his work on the PS could yield results.

Funny. The Steelers offense is extremely overrated by NFL Network and ESPN. Bell and Brown post a lot of yards for fantasy points. I guess that's why the media gushes about the Steelers and they are always high in the power rankings, even after a defeat by a lesser talented team. When the rubber meets the road, the Steelers offense... not the defense, will prevent the team a trip to the Super Bowl.

Ultimately, I grudgingly agree. I’m worried the offense will sputter, putting the defense on the field for too darn long ... and they’ll eventually soften in the face of the opponent’s attack.

Those same Titans that needed overtime to beat the Browns in a field goal fest , also the Titans have one of the worst secondaries in the league.
