Aaron Rodgers has his collar bone broke and right away the league is looking to change the rules about hitting the QB again. Any other QB not named Rodgers, or Brady and this isn't even a discussion, think about it, Carson Palmer gets hit low by Kimo Von Oelhoffen and ends up with a devastating knee injury yet there isn't even talk of any rule change. Then Brady has a season ending knee injury and that quick a new rule is implemented about hitting QBs low yet Roethlisberger has been hit low more than a dozen times since the rule has been in place yet has not ever had that call come from it. Some say that was a dirty hit but I didn't see it like that, where was the outrage when Burfict drove Ben into the ground and was then kneeing him in the shoulder? Where was the rule change?

Changing the rules how? Info? Link?

Not sure what more they can do before putting flags on them.

I'll bet dollars to donuts it's not even someone from the league that mentioned this. Just some talking head on tv/radio.

I'm not speaking in favor of Rodgers, but what I saw of the tackle was the defender raising his arms and legs up so as to not break the impact of him landing on top of Rodgers - i.e. full body weight plus momentum. I could see it leading to a discretionary rule change in the realm of the "defenseless receiver" rule. But your point about it taking a top 5 QB to be injured to result in a rule change is valid.

It was on the NFL Network's "up to the minute" segment. They reported that the league office is reviewing the hit and discussing a possible rule change.

NFL football is an entertainment product. That product is less entertaining to most fans without good quarterback play. It behooves the NFL to protect good quarterbacks to keep their product as entertaining as possible. None of this should be shocking.

WWE is sports entertainment, the NFL is supposed to be a competitive sport. With that being said, you are correct. However, they should not fine other players to favor QBs, because their health is a risk as well.
