Well, if Bryant is upset about his role in the offense, he should look in the mirror. When you're being passed up on the depth chart by a 20 year old rookie, maybe the problem is you.

I have a working theory right now so bare with me. What if Ian Rapaport did indeed take a phone call that Bryant does want to be traded? What if the person was just pretending to be Martavis? What if the person that called was in fact Sammie Coates? Full circle b!tch

Find a way to get him 10 catches 180 yards and 2 tds. Maybe even run him some this week against bengals. 5 min after game tell them they can have him for mccarron.

If this is true and he wants out. Make something happen because he hasnt grown up apparently. He was this way at clemson. He has more talent than watkins but this junk is why he waa a 4th round pick

I suggested trading him before I seen the reports because Ben is not right . What if Bryant knows this and wants to have a productive season to increase his value moving forward ? Bryant has been getting open he has been blocking very well and showing effort in that regard.

If I was a deep ball first WR and didn't believe in the ability of my QB to throw the deep ball I might ask for a trade also . If I felt this was the last season for that QB and the team is showing LJ as the future I would want out as well.

The Steelers are going back to a run first play defense style as they should be . With the way AB plays not many balls left to be spread around . So in his defense Bryant would be better suited on a pass first Team that doesn't have a true weapon like AB on it. Only about 3 Teams with primary targets like AB in the NFL .

So a trade would greatly increase his chances of becoming a primary target .A trade would also increase his chances of getting a better deep ball QB as Ben is probably at or near the bottom in that regard.

So trading him is probably for the best, now can we get some real value and a player that makes our Team better ? I would say yes esp. if we can get a good Safety . My first call would be to the Browns as they will need ammo to go get a QB. I would offer Bryant and a #2 for Jabril Peppers.

He's good, but certainly tradeable. Offer me any DB that can ACTUALLY TACKLE and I'll snap your hand off

Bryant needs to be patient. He took an entire year off. The rust is still there. If I'm not mistaken, he didn't do much his rookie year until around week 8-9. He's a late season bloomer.

I think he was inactive until week 6 or 7 of his rookie year. I remember his first career catch was a TD.

Might need to trade for an ILB, depending how hurt Williams is.

an ILB and a draft pick. I'd be good with.

But, who knows if this is even the case. I don't believe Ian Rapport, he's been wrong many times. If it were Adam Shreffer I'd believe it, he usually knows his stuff.

Demarcus Ayers is unemployed if we need a guy who's young and has been here before.

He's Creditable. Rapport reported that Bell was going to hold out, and Ben was leaning toward retirement before.

Who is going to trade for a receiver that has had major substance abuse issues, was suspended for the 2016 season? And has played below average?

If the story is true. They can't even confirm if he said it before or after the KC win.

Each week we have to hear more nonsense with this Offense. Enough.

If they can trade him so be it. He sure didn't add anything last season. And really has done nothing spectacular this one so far. He will be a UFA next season.

He will stay and be gone next season. That's the way the Steelers do business...

Barely been targeted.. you mean against Kansas City or the season thus far?

Against Kansas City I agree. Rest of the season though indicates otherwise.

Regarding Kansas City though, if Ben was looking elsewhere then I suppose that also falls on Martavis.

I think Bryant has beat his man at least 7 times this year and got behind the Defense. Ben has missed him every time. Teams can see that on tape and if they have WR'S who don't have that skill or haven't showed that skill that would drive some interest .

I think this is it for Ben so shop Bryant see if we get any interest . If we do , I would be willing to throw in a high pick for a difference maker at a key spot . As stated above Bryant and a #2 pick could land us a good Safety IMO .

He only has two games with 8 targets. He should be getting that every game.
    His other games: 6,5,4,3.

Three games with 5 or less targets. Not enough.

Not wanting to make this a bash Ben thread , but the reason he doesn't get targeted as much is Bryant is not a precise route runner . Bryant is not a great adjust to the ball guy like AB. Bryant is not a great read the zone WR . His best and most dangerous skill is getting deep.

He has showed he can do that .Which brings me to the Ben part. Ben is not going to throw him open on a fair at best ran route. Ben is not going to be accurate enough to keep Bryant from adjusting to the ball most of the time . Ben can not get his deep ball right .

With all that said how much value does Bryant really have on this Team ? A trade might be best for him and this Team.

Basically he is a bad fit . Look at what AP did after his trade. He still has it he just needed the right blocking scheme to make it work. I see Bryant in a similar way .He has the skills he needs a more accurate QB to match his skill set better. Ideal would be a QB known for a great deep ball.

If I was a Coach with a QB with that skill I would have a lot of interest in Bryant.

Look, he won us the game and I hate to make this about him but this is once again a trickle down effect from Brown. First off, they were spreading the ball around better in the first couple games but AB wasn't happy about his touches. So he throws a hissy fit and gets 19 targets against the best pass defense in the league. Then Bell complains about his touches and gets 32. Anybody looking at the situation would go I just need to complain and I will get the ball. Exactly what I've been saying about Brown needing to be an example to these younger guys and being a bad leader. He doesn't realize his actions effect everyone and set a bad precedent.

So now they are going to force the ball to Bryant to make him happy. It's a never ending game. That's why it's just better to shut up and play ball. Some games you will get your # called and sometimes you wont. If I was the Bengals I would double and triple cover Bryant now.

I really don’t care if he asked for a trade because they’re not going to trade him. There’s a small chance he gets traded for a draft pick in the offseason, but whether he likes it or not he will be in a Steeler uniform for the 2017 season.

He’s an UFA next year. Or did his 2016 season not count toward the years on his contract.

Except that when he goes to NE, Belichick suddenly turns him into an all-world receiver.

Edit: And then he kills us in the playoffs with 7 rec 194 yds, 2 TDs

ok, after thinking about this some more- here are some other unsolicited thoughts RE:Bryant.

Remember that Bryant has been diagnosed in the past with depression. Speaking from the perspective of someone with first hand experience and knowledge of how the depressed mind can work, none of his statements surprise me. For example, his asking for a trade may seem like an unusual reaction to the rest of us However, it's what depression loves to do-react to an unexpected problem with a rash, extreme, even destructive response- especially when you see happiness and success around you, but are unable to get yourself to join in. After thinking about it more, I regret calling him immature, he's troubled, and I hope for his own sake he gets support and help. I don't know if any of you remember this, but after he made a catch yesterday, AB went over to him and said something of a supportive, congratulatory nature.

I'm a little sick of hearing how much talent he has, no offense to you, Formerscribe. But last I checked, there was more to the "talent picture" than JUST how fast a WR can play. There is also the factor of ability to catch - including in traffic - route running, catching patterns besides go routes, etc. and staying available year to year and not smoking hippie lettuce. MB has only one box checked out of all of those.
