I think brown is the exception here of course, but I am trying to figure out why if Brown is double and triple covered on every passing play, why aren’t the other receivers able to beat single coverage? I mean, wasn’t Brynt supposed to put us over the top?

All I know is that Rogers and Hamilton did a much better job getting open last year than your present group.

I said it before, the opposing defenses know the routes the WRs are running based on formation. That is on Haley, he is too predictable and no game planning against a team, instead it is the same scripted plays no matter what look the defense is giving.

Id feel more comfortable with Martavis as the 3rd receiver rather than the #2.

He just is not dependable in his route running or hands.

Bryant sucks. Rogers should be starting. You can put Heyward-Bay in for Bryant. He has the speed to stretch the field.

AB, Rogers, JuJu, Hey-bay...my starters. We got to shake things up.

In all fairness to ben, the defensive backs in this game and the Bears game in particular have been all over our WRs. They seem to playing man and just owning our guys. The exception again is Brown, but if we throw 20 times a game to him, he is going to get stats. The other guys? Not so much.

I hate making excuses, but the refs let the jags DB's do whatever the heck they wanted today and never threw a flag. That can make any WR look bad

That was part of it, but Bryant needs to play better.

That said, so does Roethlisberger. He just isn't hitting on the deep ball and defenses know it. He missed Bryant down the field again today. He wasn't wide open this time, as he had been the last two weeks, but Roethlisberger didn't give him a chance at the ball.

Yup, with the exception of one pick, which was a deflection by the DT, they were all over the receivers.

Heck even that one the DB had hands on Brown's shoulder keeping him from beating him and raised them up when he saw the pick!

The deep ball to Brown the DB pushed him before the ball even got there and he ended up landing out of bounds. At some point you need to enforce the rules of the game for both teams. Fitting that the only hold comes on DeCastro and the TD to Brown, which the DB was all over him before the ball got there as well!

I'm not sure why people question the WR's when it's clear that the guy that gets them the ball has struggled most of the season.

Hard to say for sure but I'm pretty sure Brady would b quite happy to have what we have.....so maybe that answers the question

unless Bryant and Ben can connect on the long ball then Bryant is useless.

Ben has resorted to the Flacco throw it deep - even if there is no chance at catching the ball (or there are 3 guys on the receiver) - and hope for a flag.

Are you seeing open receivers? Ben hasn't been good but how many throws are uncontested? Few, and that is telling, so was the 1st pick 6 off the deflection. Defenders are always in perfect position against our pass offense, why is that? Either the receivers aren't running good routes or the opposing team knows the routes that are going to be run, I really think Haley's play calling has become predictable.

Yes they are. Bryant, unless running full speed in a straight line gets no separation from the DBs and has demonstrated no ability to fight for the ball. 6'4 and they don't even look his way in the redzone. That is telling.
Rogers is adequate but doesn't scare anybody. DHB is average at best as a WR. Haven't seen anything from Hunter since he was brought in outside of one splash play in preseason. JuJu has some real potential and has been getting better every week.
I will say that a lot of the routes run result in an immediate tackle and virtually no YAC. It would be nice if a) receivers can get separation and b) Ben could hit them in rythym and in stride for a change.

It's terribly predictable play calling and bad QB play. That said, the WRs we got rid of are as good as the ones we kept (not counting AB, of course).
