Wonder if Ben and company will play scared like they usually do against the ratbirds.

I dont know why, but i have a feeling that the Steelers are going to finally show up this week.
Even though the Ravens have owned us lately and always play us hard, and i usually have these games very tight.
I think the Steelers will come out firing on all cylinders.
Bell finally gets going with over 100 yards rushing and over 50 yards receiving.
Brown gets over 100 yards and Bryant gets a long ball for a TD.
Jesse James will play and have a good game with a TD as well.
The defense will force 3 turnovers, 2 INTs and 1 fumble on Flacco.
It will be one sided until garbage time and the Ravens will put some points up then.
Call me delusional all you want, and i usually would never feel like this but its in my gut.

Let me ask, what can we learn from the Jags beat down of Ravens and can we duplicate what they did?

    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20170...0ap3000000849985&tab=analyze&analyze=boxscore

They were judicious in their passing, only 31 attempts, zero ints., 4 TDs.
They pounded the rock with various ball carriers, (not OD with just one runner like we do with Bell).
    They gave up no sacks.
They totally controlled their passing attack (Flacco & Mallett 52 yards combined).
Were balanced all day - 166 rushing, 244 passing.

What can we duplicate from what the Jags did? I would start with more touches for Conner and even Watson. I would limit how many rushes go up the gut, as Balt. is big and solid on DL and ILB. Don't just hit your head against a rock, like an idiot, Tomlin and Haley. Use more quick slants, dig, seam (TEs) and wheel routes.

As far as playing pass D like the Jags did, I don't think we have the horses to do it. Jags finally are reaping from all those high draft picks and free agent signings. They got some ballers out there, as noted by holding Ravens to a mere 52 yards passing. They are rocking with Myles Jack, Telvin Smith, Barry Church, A.J. Bouye, Calais Campbell (He has been a beast out there), Paul Posluszny, Jalen Ramsey, Malik Jackson and more. Our safeties have seemed bad. We still miss angles and tackles all over. Jags also destroyed Houston just like they did the Ravens and Houston gave Pats all they could handle, scoring 33 on them and only surviving from a late, 4th Q. Brady act.

I'd love to recreate a whooping like J ville did, but I'm not sure we have the horses to do it. And before you laugh at me, remember I called the loss to the Bears.

Seriously dude. When has Ben ever played scared against the Rats? You're delusional if you think that.

This is part of the reason I need break from the game. Some people don't even know what they're watching.

I mean just give me one example of your statement.

Ravens will rush 4 and drop 7 while ben will force to AB, and throw long bombs. Oh and use empty sets so they can rush 3 lol

We are not going to see the same rat team that was embarrassed in London: The question is, are we going to see a better Steeler team than the one that was embarrassed in Chicago????

This game will tell us a lot about this steeler team as to where they are headed, this is for the division lead and if they cant get up for this game then they are just pretenders going through the motions....

We were 4-5 at one point last season; don't think for one second that they can't come out and play listless week 4, because we know that is a trait of Tomlin-coached teams. For div. lead or not, a Tomlin team just isn't focused in Sept. They never have been. If they bring their brain-dead playcalling and poor effort, we could get blown out by a team that got destroyed by the Jags 44-7 last week.

I wouldn't call you delusional; it could very well happen, but not unless the play calling improves as does Ben's decision making.

They were talking on sirius radio about Suggs and his lack of production vs Ben the last few games. They also pointed out that in Ben's last 9 games vs the Ravens he is avg. 11 points. I have a really good feeling about this week......

    Sporting news:
Week 4 NFL picks against spread: Steelers rock Ravens

You can't blame John Harbaugh for never wanting his team to play in London again after the Jaguars debacle. The offense, however, won't suddenly break out a slump in the usual physical, hard-hitting game between these rivals. Pittsburgh has more firepower and balance to break through for key plays in this one to take early control of the AFC North.

PICK: Steelers win 23-16 and cover the spread.

Not feeling confident based on history.

    Big Ben at Raisins:
    11.4 ppg
    7 tds 12 int
    2-7 record

    Just for comparison
    @new England
    24.5 ppg
    8-4 td int
    1-3 record (can’t stop Brady)

I see us at 2-2 then we heat up or ben finally has a losing season as his last.

    :/

Against the Rats, never. Last year against New England, yeah. Too mesmerized by wanting to be like his big brother.

Horrible game plan? Absolutely, without a doubt.

I'm truly surprised Ben hasn't come up with a reason to miss the game in Bmore as usual.
    Wait for it.....

Scared isn't the right word. But I do think it's a mental block of some type. It's not a killer instinct for sure.

Other tidbits: Roethlisberger has been sacked 28 times in Baltimore. The only two times they won in Baltimore with Ben, the Steelers went to the Super Bowl.
