Fair, I just found it pretty inspiring myself win or lose. It's what I want to hear from Coach.

I don't believe I've brought politics into the discussion?
Heck even TTF started a thread about the topic. It's relative to today's game. Unfortunately.
Also did some say talk of it was off limits?
Edit: wasn't TTF that started that thread. My apologies.

I know they said no anthem talk...but I just want to throw my 2 cents in quickly.

I see a lot of people upset about them staying in the locker room. I thought it was actually a good thing when I first saw it. I heard they could not "agree" on what they were going to do as a team, so Tomlin kept them in. I think anyone doing anything to bring attention to themselves during the anthem is selfish. Not only will you have to answer questions about it, but your teammates have to as well.....Your job is to win football games. Go do that.

and with that said.....I want to be Alejandro Villanueva when I grow up......That guy is simply a rock star in my eyes.....Was moving to see him out there in the tunnel.

Then why was AV standing alone at the end of the Tunnel? My guess is a few players were planning to kneel so the decision was as long as one wants to stand they will stay in the tunnel and diss the National Anthem AV being prior Military could not allow himself to do this it's impossible for someone who has never served or experienced loss while serving in its honor to understand. When you serve you are taught to never ever disrespect or dishonor the Flag by not rising to your feet and salute if in uniform or place your hand over your heart to the playing of the National Anthem and the raising, lowering, or displaying of our National colors. While serving overseas or in a combat zone it is a beckon of hope and promise that what you are doing is for the greater good of mankind no matter what your situation finds you in. God Bless America :flag:

No. You didn't. and that wasn't directed at you.

We did have a thread earlier before the game that we had to lock because people just cannot be civil (we were going to let it go. But that experiment ended quickly). Which is why we discouraged it the rest of the day.

Ben has gone ROAD - Retired On Active Duty. We are going nowhere unless/until he decides to engage in the season.

Interesting... since Villanueva was the only individual who brought attention to himself

Maybe Ben knew he was already done when all the retirement talk started last offseason...

He looks slow in the pocket.

With regard to the anthem... that was a total disgrace. A disgusting display. No wonder they played like losers; they acted like losers before the game.

Then he should have either (1) made it official, (2) worked his butt off to guarantee his decline didn't let the team down in his final season.

Right, that kind of talent shouldn't constantly struggle to put 7 on the board in the red zone.

AV is still technically a reservist and can be called back.

Hell I'm still available to be called back for another 4 years, but I'm not in the same boat as him as he was a commissioned officer.

I mean... it's not really debatable. it's a fact. The team chose to do one thing, Villanueva chose to do something else.

I respect both sides right to those decisions, but given that Steel Hack made a point to call out "bringing attention" to oneself... it was pretty hypocritical to praise Villanueva for doing exactly what he called out others for doing.

Of course the Ravens get destroyed and the Steelers lose to the Bears in overtime.

Politics aside... this is most certainly a distraction... players and coaches will be answering questions out this all year.

I thought Tomlin was trying to do the same thing, keep the dummies out of the headlines and
That's my gripe... Where were the others in this so called family? AV is the man! Would've been nice if some of the others backed his play. It backfired and now we have to hear about the other 52 dummies ad nauseum for however long.

He was the only one who did what he thought was the right thing in a selfless manner... Not a trendy # manner. I'll take that all day every day
