Think about it: When Haley calls the plays, what do we get? Endless bubble screens and trick plays when we have at least 2 WRs who can blaze down the field, being wasted on Todd's god-awful short crap and trick plays.

We only move the ball when we go semi-no huddle with Ben calling the shots. And I am sick of it. Play calling like this makes us just barely beat the Browns. It's pathetic. TH is the worst.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. There were some nice plays in the Clowns game that the players just couldn't connect on.

My beef would be we do not call easier to complete pass plays, especially on 3rd down. I would suggest we look at pass plays the Pats run on 3rd down and try to copy that.

A lot of people's heads are going to explode when Haley succeeds Tomlin as head coach of the Steelers in 3 years. :lolol:

For my own take though, no he is not. Far from it.

It is the execution and fundementals that are lacking.

From the infamous four failed two point attempts in the Dallas game, the no scoring victory in the AFC Divisional Game against Kansas City and now what transpired in Cleveland, Haley is doing his best to put the guys into position to succeed.

If JuJu does not hold, the offensive line opens up lanes in the rushing attack and wide receivers not named Antonio Brown elect to not just show up and actually make catches, these types of problems become non issues.

Jeez, that Arains can't call plays worth a damn. Get rid of him. Great he is gone. Steelers get the wunderkind Haley! Jeez that Haley can't call plays worth a damn. Get rid of him. Ever think it is the piss poor execution of the players? It is!

Damn he is brash just like me ,OK now I got that out of the way . Your premise is straight wrong.Haley is a very good OC ,but most times he lacks in the adjustment phase of the game.He seems to be A plan, A oriented but lacks the plan B and plan C adjustments.

Does he know his plan? Oh yeah. Can his guys execute that plan? Oh yeah . The problem comes with the new wrinkles or an injury or one of his key cogs having a bad game. This is when he fails to adjust,I really don't think Coach T gives him much practice time to think about or work on those .Ben really doesn't desire to either .

Could he be a better set up the attack guy ? Yes.The question is how much of failing to do so is really his fault ?

If it looks like a screen pass, acts like a screen pass and loses yardage like a screen pass then Haley called it.

I don't hate the guy or think he's the worst OC ever ( he's far from the worst ) but he does having me scratching my head and wondering what the heck he's thinking at times.

Haley was running a 5 WR set and get short yardage passes. Not a big deal. So you take what the defense gives ya and they were giving up the middle and playing safetys deep

If your claims about adjustments and lack of a plan b etc were true then a large part of the problem is Haley.

Minus the bubble screens... Haley is doing a good job, IMO. It's the players NOT executing... whether it's the O-line getting blasted or WRs getting jammed at the LOS.

I'm pretty sure the 2pt bullcrap rests solely on Tomlin though doesn't it?

4 straight passes to the sideline to open up the season definitely had me scratching my head.

I'm not going to say he's the worst but I'm not going to bash OP either. I think we all have noticed over the years the offense looks a lot better when they are in no huddle and Ben is calling the plays. Not sure if that's on Ben or Haley. I will say Haley tends to overthink or get too cute a lot.

I'm waiting for him to use Bryant like they said they were going to do, he's been through camp and a game and he is supposed to be bigger stronger and faster and he is supposed to take the pressure off of AB, well this is the game to do that, get him involved in the damn game this week, what are they waiting for????
