steelers is a young team

ESPN has an article on average age ranking. the defense is ranked the #4 youngest in the league and overall, they are ranked #5. unfortunately, Big Ben is the oldest among the starters. If we can keep the defense intact for the next 5 years, our defense should grow and do well.

 

Quite contrary to what they were saying a couple of years ago about the Stiller defense being old. lol

 

I can't remember where I first read this, but it was a long time ago and there is a lot of universal truth in this statement:

There is only one thing we can say for sure about young players, it is that they will get older.

 

I think Warren Sapp was the first one to call the Steelers defense old and slow.

Sapp was still pissed about Maddox and Steelers whipping them in '02. Great game. Bucs went on to win the Super Bowl that year, but they got OWNED by the Steelers in the regular season. Lee Flowers called them "Paper Champions." Good times.
