I agree, but that's the problem. The Steelers are paying him 12 million to wait for him to get caught up.

Looked like a guy who wasn't in game shape and was out of sync for not getting any reps with the first team in camp and preseason. Punk primadonna didn't earn his $12M today.

Well.... on a positive note.... bell had more production today than he had in week 1-3 last year.

Here's the deal. I'm a Steelers fan. I've been a Steelers fan long before Bell and I will be one long after Bell. The Steelers won today and that's all I care about. I couldn't give less of a crap about Bell's "numbers" or ANYbody's numbers as long as we keep winning. If Steeler wins are contingent upon Bell's numbers then I'm rooting for him to put up big numbers. If we can win every game and his numbers be terrible this year then I couldn't care less. I'm way more invested in the success of the Steelers than I am of Le'Veon Bell and therein lies the rub. Players are invested in themselves and fans are invested in the team. That is honestly the way it has always been and always will be. There are VERY few if ANY players in the whole league that honestly care more about the team than they do their own numbers because their numbers determine their salaries and they're playing for salaries ultimately. Just the reality of the situation. Believing anything less is lying to yourself.

I've got a feeling he will be wearing a Ravens uniform at this time next year, and then we will really hate him.

A defender can play 9 tech irrespective of whether there's a TE to his side, as long as he lines up outside of where the TE would have been.

Not gonna lie. If he put that uniform on it would put him in a category of my most hated sports figures ever. I'm talking right up there with Flacco, Ray Lewis, Suggs, Aikman, Manning, Mark McGwire, Josh Beckett, Steve Bartman, John Starks, and people like that. I mean those are names that just trigger instant anger in my mind. That's how I would feel if he did that. Wouldn't surprise me a bit though.

Cubbies fans generally don't like cards players. I would say that he cheated to hit that many homers but of course Sammy did as well. The worst thing about McGwire was when he went before Congress and repeatedly said "I'm not here to talk about the past". Over. And. Over. Sammy just acted like he couldn't even understand what they were saying. Although that whole hearing thing was a dog and pony show.

I thought you guys had officially "forgiven" Bartman. ;) I bet you can't even watch that 30 for 30 without throwing stuff at him on the TV, huh?

Yeah they "officially" forgave him and even gave him a ring but no I still can't stand to watch that play. I got to meet a guy that works with the Cubbies minor league clubhouse and he had an actual ring and we were talking about Bartman getting one and I said "But does our 03 squad get the one they were robbed of????" Not so much.

As we all know, the Steelers always start off slow and get better as the season progresses. A lot of new pieces that will take some time to get on the same page.

    No.

Both rushers would line up in the wide 9 with or without the tight end being there.

    Take this pic. for example.

Both rushers are way outside where the offensive tackles are. Their current position would be in the "nine tech".

BFT - Reverend, Bartman, Really? Give it a rest. He did what 12 people around him were trying to do only he actually was the unfortunate one to obstruct that play. It's something that millions of others around the country would have done, even you and I probably as well, given the situation, but you Cubs fans want to bicker, moan and even threaten the kid forever and then make him an honorary person of the team by giving him a Championship ring once they finally won it. It's so hypocritical it's not even funny and if I were him I'd tell the team and the Fans where they can stick that jewelry as I telling the city "Go White Socks".

For a Pastor, I really think you have some overwhelming non forgiveness.

And if used against the run they help prevent the bounce out and help set the edge . It is not only for rushing the QB it is also to keep the RB from getting to the edge .

They usually do a 2 and 2 . 2 yards across the los and then 2 yards in as stated they have the outside leverage unless the O goes Nasty Split to counter it with their TE'S

Typically, the "Wide-9" technique player is a pure pass rusher, and usually a speed rusher to be more specific. He aligns himself out wide, angled back toward the quarterback, and has limited run responsibility on the play. His whole job is to get to the quarterback. These are the defensive ends who excel at getting off the ball, blowing past the tackle, dipping their shoulder around the turn, and reaching the quarterback as he completes his drop.

The technique clearly gives the defensive end an advantage in pass rushing. He is able to get a couple of extra steps, and momentum built, before the tackle gets in the way. If he has the speed, the tackle may just be trying to push him further back, rather than actually getting in front of the defensive end.

It can have its struggles against the run, however, because, unless a linebacker is stepping into the offense's C-gap, there is no one there to defend the off-tackle run. Opposing offenses can try to take advantage of the defensive end's use of the technique by running off tackle, even running read-option type of plays into the gap or audibling into a running play to exploit the potential opening that is there.

OK so why do NFL Teams run the wide 9 on running downs ? Answer that ? If only for pass rush it would never be used and the angle in is for the pass rush on run downs they play it straight up.

Your vision of the TV leaves a lot to be desired as well it seems.
