Just joined today...

    Well - since this post may/may not be accepted within an hour, day, week, etc. I'll say that I just joined on November 3. I see some familiar names - and always feel at home in Steelers Country, but something has to be done about the timeliness of the "acceptance" of posts.

    TTF is TerribleTowelFlying- giver of the new, functioning board. :) He's on often, name in yellow. No problem with posting usually- thinking moderation is set up when he's not able to monitor new member initial posts at night?

    Would also suggest that you peruse the Need Help area. There are some good "how-to" threads over there that help us get grounded in the nuances of this board. It is our new home and the gameday chatter was awesome against the patsies. Big ups go to TTF for starting and managing this forum. Glad to have ya here mdbates!

    Hey mdbates2, welcome aboard. :drinks:
    Like others mentioned, I've had to put new members on moderation for their first post (or until their first post is approved). It's something I've just recently started doing since we've had quite a few spam bots finding us. If I didn't, every page would have a couple 'buy *insert marital aid here* now' or 'buy HTC phones' threads. If I see a name I recognize from the other board, I immediately enable their full posting abilities. This morning when you registered, you just missed Numbah58 the moderator, and I was out running errands, so you fell through the cracks and had to wait a couple hours. Sorry about that.

    As far as uploading a pic under your username, there are some posts about it in the Need Help forum. Here's a topic link that might help: http://thesteelersfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=80 If you still need help with an avatar, let me know. :)

    As TTF already said, we've had some issues with spam artists recently and I just missed your greeting or would have recognized you immediately and approved your post.

    Got it - and I'm liking this board now that my posts are inserted immediately. I completely understand. Now - I gotta get me a Steelers avatar. I was so tired on the old board of having all kinds of weird problems that I've never had on other boards. This one seems to have some old friends as well as new citizens of Steelers Nation.
