I agree, but the offense was more disappointing in the loss than the defense. Our D was young and inexperienced. The offense was one of the top offenses in the league and couldn't do squat against an average New England defense.

On paper they look averge but statistically Patriots had one of the best defenses last year.

That's what kills me. Look at all the draft picks and talent we got on defense opposed to the Patriots. Not to mention all the missed out picks they got because of cheating. Yet, they still run the 3-4 defense better than us. That's why I've been saying for the longest it's the coaching. Pretty sure they draft on IQ as well and not just talent.

I pretty much agree... but I also think a #2 seed would be acceptable. If we're a SB team then we better start beating the teams we are suppose to beat.

More important then seeding is health...specifically for #7. We are going to have injuries. We are going to have season ending injuries to key players. It happens every season. We just can't afford to lose Ben.

It depends on HOW you lose as much. If we lost the way the Falcons did, I would be so angry I would stop following football for years.

Curious why you perceive that the Pats defense lacks talent. If you look at their depth chart, they have 4 1st rounders and 4 2nd rounders as starters, plus some other high picks as reserves. Add former UDFA corner Malcolm Butler, who certainly has excellent talent, and you have a high pedigree defense. They're not just well coached, they're really talented.

Horrible loss for the Falcons. I felt sorry for the owner... he was down on the sidelines waiting on the trophy and Brady pooped on his parade. I'd rather the Steelers get blown out by the Patriots.. than be up by 4 scores and lose the way the Falcons did. I bet half of the Falcons fan base is gone after that loss and I don't blame them. That was the most devastating defeat I've seen in sports in a long time. The only other Super Bowl defeat that comes close is the missed Norwood field goal which would have won it for the Bills. And please... Super Bowl XXX sucked, but Cowboys were the better team and had more talent and were picked to win, so don't even bring that one up.

Hmmm... Get run over by (1) a loaded dump truck going 60mph or (2) the same truck going walking speed? Tough call.

Patriots will rebound from this. They always do. They were due a bad outing... just wish it would have happened in the AFC Championship or Super Bowl 8 months ago. :frustrated:

How about first winning the opener before trying to figure out seeding?

Talking about our first game. I want to win in style. Against an inferior team in chaos, our offense should be clicking and our defense should also have a big day. We SHOULD win by blowout, however I`m thinking the offense does not click in the first half, then scores what we need to win in the second half. There is a potential for the defense to set up some scores for the offense IMO.

We need to stomp on them like the dirty brown stains they are, lol.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it, I'm scared of the Chiefs. They added another speedster. We need the Chiefs and Patriots to play in the playoffs. We can't have last year again.. Giving them both a week off and basically giving Belicheat 3 weeks to gameplan for us. Then expect to go thru both of them. It's not happening. We cannot lose dumb games.

Our D is a lot better now that we can play man more just as I stated years ago . We have guys who can get to the QB if given half a chance to do so. With that said we are still weak at the Safety spot and will give up more points than we should.

On the other side of the Ball we have lots of weapons we need those weapons to ring up the score board .If the O would produce equal to the talent we could win every game . This is why I don't give game balls to fair performances .This is why I question our PA game . This is why I question our Redzone work. This is why I question the use or non use of players at different positions.

The bottom line is this Team has the talent to be dominate, we need to explore all options striving towards that anything short of a dominate performance against weaker Teams should not be considered a Win IMO . Domination should be the goal not just a W .

Guess I can delete this thread, it's a pipe dream. Same ol Tomlin coached Steelers playing down to their opponent. Apparently this will never change.

Apparently that's the attitude of our coach and team as well. Shame on me for believing.
