With all this situation, it's hard to know what the outcome could be.
After today, he still has 17 regular season games and postseason (including a SB?) ahead of him with a Steeler's #26 Jersey on.

    Later, he will become:

He'll be tagged again and will be his last season here.

I also went with tagged again. I think he has a monster year on the way to the Super Bowl Championship and we ride him one last year.

Ok, maybe I don't think that, but I sure hope for it.

The last 3 are not even a possibility. Not tagging him as at least an unrestricted would be beyond stupid.

Unless he has a poor year, of course.

Hey man! It has been a while. How have you been? :smiley1:

Back on topic, for me, he will be tagged then 2019 will be his last.

I'm going for option 6. Tagged, gets offer from another team, and we either match, or we get 2 first round choices.

The same thing that happened this year will happen again next year. Then he'll be gone in 2019

We franchise him this year and next, then he begins his long and illustrious career at DQ.

So much still that could change this situation....

It wouldn't surprise me to see him signed to a long term deal if Ben retires after this season (off of a super bowl win of course).

If he gets hurt then he has a different set of problems

If he balls out then he becomes even more expensive (especially if he dominates in the playoffs and super bowl)

If he has a horrible year while healthy (EXTREMELY unlikely) then we might hesitate to sign him for what he wants.

Let's let this thing play out before we jump to conclusions. There's still way too much that can happen to alter the situation.

Geez, can we concentrate on this season? What's next, 2018 mock drafts?

I`m going with not tagged and nobody pays his ridiculous asking price (unsigned). I`m guessing he will ask not to be tagged and we will oblige.

If Ben retires after this season and we get Cousins, I think we will not be able to afford him and he is gone.

If Ben goes another year, I`m hoping he ends up playing with us for another year after testing the market.

If he stays healthy and we are successful some what this year. He will be tagged again, they might try to work out a deal.

If he remains unreasonable, next year will be his last here.

If he becomes hurt again this year, he fails a drug test etc. This current season may be his last, and the Steelers might not want to tag him and pay him 15 million next year.

For me, it's best to think about one season, and sometimes one game, at a time. I'll re-visit Bell's situation in March.
