It's not out of the question they come up with somewhat of a safety upgrade either by trade or after cutdown. There are a few decent veterans buried behind younger guys on depth charts.

I love the move...the boards response is the typical goldie locks response....That player is tooooo good we would never get him....that player is tooooo bad...if so and so cut him why would we want him.....very rarely do you read a player is juuuuuuuuust riiiiiiight....unless they sign him cheap and he out plays his contract....then the Front office is brilliant.

This was a good move...that cap money is just made up monopoly money that would have sat for no reason other than signing a guy off the street if an injury happened.

What I don't get is why Haden means either Cockrell of Sensabaugh is gone.....if they are the top of the CB heap...why not out Haden out there and push someone off the bottom of the pile vs the top.

Honestly I would drop Gay at this point.

I'm betting the 7 million guaranteed is all in year 1 salary, making the remaining 2 years options with no dead cap.

If he proves he's back to form and a number 1, then happy to pay 10 per, otherwise we walk away.

 

I am afraid Ike is a HOMER. Lets face it Hayden hasn't been too good for a long time. Granted he
maybe better than what we got. But he isn't a top 10 CB.

 

Is Hayden one of the guys that was sitting during the Anthem? I sure hope not.

 

Whether Haden succeeds or fails as a Steeler is irrelevant at this point in time. I absolutely applaud this move! We finally did something substantive to try to upgrade the secondary while Ben is still around to make another Super Bowl run!!! Kudos to you, Mr. Colbert & company!

 

This is a BIG GAMBLE.

 

This is a step in the right direction considering how awful our secondary has been over the years. Seems a bit higher than what the Steelers usually pony up. If we didn't get him though he would have landed somewhere for that same money in just a matter of days. Let's hope it pans out.

Please for the love of GOD Tomlin, do not play these DB's 10 yards off anymore! If yinz do, he will be just another burnt DB.

 

Particiation trophies? Nah, I'm with Deebo on those. My point is that IF Haden is an abysmal failure as a Steeler you won't hear any criticism of the FO from me. At least they made the move they needed to make!

Obviously, I hope he turns out to be a Farrior-like signing but that remains to be seen. I like what Colbert and the FO have done the last two days to upgrade the team's deficiencies. Now let's go win number 7 with 7!
