I like this guy so the Team did recognize that the TE spot needed to be addressed . Now they need to be looking for starter capable DB'S as well.

I really do believe this is Ben's last season so now is the time to make some bold moves .

what is real funny was yesterday at work I was printing out the depth charts for my fantasy football drafts coming up and I spent some time checking out everyone's TE's. I was thinking the Steelers could find a nice guy and bam here it is. I don't know much about Vance but looks like we will find out, I am still a JJ fan though.

Very nice move by the Steelers. Essentially moving down in next years draft by anywhere from 5-20 spots to acquire a decent player in a position that doesn't have a clear cut #1.

At first I was like wtf but then I looked at his highlights. We've been looking for a fast/home run TE. Grimble has never got a fair shake here. He's solid but never got any burn. They could probably trade him and get something.

    Not bad at all.

Wonder what it means for McGee and Grimble.

They got McDonald and the niners 2018 5th round pick, not too high on this trade though, we haven't had any luck with getting other teams TE cast offs, IE Green......

Did they have a spot on the 90 man roster or was there a corresponding move?

McGee was always destined for the practice squad, at best. I hope Johnson is shown the door; not a TE, not a FB.

What sucks about giving up a 4th round pick is how will we then draft our next project player? LOL!

I really like this move. Solid pick up.

Tomlin says the other TE's "haven't been consistently varsity enough for our comfort. It's as black and white as that."

    I'm underwhelmed. A 2nd round pick from 2013 that's scored 7 career TD's in 4 seasons?

look at the qb, end of story.

    Ben elevates his receivers.

Can we flip him for a DB? ;)

See what he brings. He would be the biggest receiving threat from the TE position that we have.
