It'd be spent on a DL if Dan Marino was waiting in the wings.... OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH

I thought it was a decent move. They gave up next years 1st and a 3rd in the past draft. They didn't have a lot of glaring needs. They were pretty proactive imo

My problem is mostly who they took. Obviously if he turns into a franchise QB, 10th pick isnt too high, however I dont think he had any business being taken in the first let alone top 10.

Dude's looked pretty good the 1st two games but there's those preseason asterisks. So like you said, we will see in the near future.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a believer in Mahommes, although things look decent thus far.

What I was saying was don't try to find your franchise guy at the bottom of the first or 2nd round or 4th round. If you are convinced the guy is a franchise QB, be bold and move up and get your guy.

Most of the starting QBs are 1st round picks.

I've been following since the 60s and have never found an awful time to be a Steelers fan. Apparently my definition of being a fan and yours are way different.

Or, your just grumpier than I thought.

This may not be popular, but if this is Ben`s last year we still have skill players on offense and the perfect solution is not a high draft pick but a high quality starter. The best answer is Cousins IMO, but that means out bidding the competition. If he is our starting QB in 2018, we have legitimate shot at the S.B. then and there and for years out. If we go rookie, it`s a project with uncertain outcome and we are not a serious contender and our chance to win now is wasted. I think we have to get him and I think he knows this would be the best landing spot for him.

By awful I meant disappointed. Coming out of the 70's, then letdown in the 80's. I guess the 90's weren't that bad.
I still say we better be prepared for when Ben goes.
As far as Bell goes, he wants too much money and misses 30% of his games. Hurt in the playoff's when we needed him most. Another distraction this year. Great player if he can stay on the field.
    QB is where its at.
Ok , our defense doesn't suck, its just below average.

just to nit pick, last year we were 10th in points allowed and 12 th in yards allowed. Not great but not below average.

And the defense improved substantially in the last 6 or so games as the 3 rookies gained time.

Maybe your right. I hope your right. My perception of the way the defense plays is this: Can't get off the field on third down. Shazier always gets injured. Dupree, are you injured too? We put no pressure on the QB unless we blitz two xtra guys. Good qb's pick our secondary apart. Hope I'm wrong.

Well, the performance of our defense down the stretch was very solid up until the AFCCG. Our defense sucked in that game, but to be frank the Pats did the same thing to most of the teams they played. houston's defense is excellent, and they were the only team to shut the Pats down when it counted.

Let's be pro active when it comes draft time. Really need to be scouting hard.

It was a painful time. Steelers were so bad they were not on Nintendo's Techmo Bowl game, even though they had won 4 Super Bowls a decade earlier.

Redskins, Bears, Giants and 49ers ruled the NFL during those years... and the Browns and Bengals ruled the AFC Central. It was an awful, depressing time in NFL football, IMHO.

On a side note, I lived in Chicago when the bears won the SB. It was fun to be in the middle of that many people going wild.

Hi. I didn't get the game where I'm at. How did that above average defense do last night?

He looked like a rookie in the seahawk game 8 of 15 70 yards no TDs, he will be a long term project behind smith.........
