Art Rooney II said the team is still trying to work on a long term deal and these things take time. Hines Ward gave Wallace advice about not making it all about the money and being with a good franchise like the Steelers who are committed to winning. Wallace denied the rumors about him seeking Larry Fitzgerald's type money saying don't believe everything you hear. Wallace can't be stupid enough to think the Steelers will pay him like their franchise qb Big Ben with a 100 million contract.

i dont see where wallace denied making that statement. he said, 'dont believe everything you hear'. that's like him saying 'dont take wooden nickels' or 'count your blessings'. that's nothing more than advice. if he actually wanted to deny it, he would have said, 'i never said that i wanted to be paid as much or more than fitzgerald'. i think he did make that staement and has received so much flack because of it, that he is now trying to backpedal with that tweet. "dont believe everything you hear'. hey mike, i dont believe everything i hear but i do believe this.

i appreciate what Ward is doing, but didn't he have a contract dispute one time were it took awhile?

Whether Ward had a contract dispute or not, the last time he signed a contract he said the Steelers more than took care of him and that he was going to retire a Steeler. It may not have happened the way he wanted it to happen but...

Yes, but I believe he did name it as the biggest regret of his career. All the more reason to listen to his advice. Gives him a little more credibility if you ask me.

Also, He worked w/ them, in terms of money and even went w/ the team and was present on the sideline during his supposed lock out (LOL). I can't think of another player in the NFL to do so.

    And he even regrets that!

if I remember right, dan rooney and ward got the deal worked out between the two of them in private and then made it offical. I wonder if art will have a similar conversation with mike

I read a article about Chad Brown who said his biggest mistake was taking the money in Seattle and not staying in Pittsburgh. He wasn't happy as a Seahawk the organization wasn't committed to winning like the Steelers.

The way i look at is wallaces first year we got el foote and mcfadden back. Every aingle one of them said how happy they were to be back amd no place was like pittsburgh. Parker did everything he could to get back here and burress is on his second try. So im sure wallace has heard them talk and sees everything and hopefully comes to the conclusion it is better to take less to be happy. I honestly think we will see this in brown who is very down to earth and has a good head on his shoulders. Brown is becoming my fav young steeler. I love his work ethic amd everything i have read his work out mirrors rice amd it really shows. Plus i love the fact that his bro was getting into trouble and he made him go to pitt so he could keep an eye on him.

I think we need to get this guy signed ASAP but at the right price. Not no fitz price either. Again like I said about willy gay, you don't go to a team like AZ for wins and SBs. I rather get paid a fair price and play for the steelers then get outrageous money and play for cardinals, browns, bumgholes etcetc
