The WRs or CBs, they might keep 6 of each group. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.:herewego!:

Apples and oranges. For the WRs it will be to see who the best 5-6 are. For the CBs it will be to see if we have 5-6 worth keeping.

At wr ....AB, MB, JSS, SC, ER, and you have a mixture of vets, rookies, fa's, and young players to fight for that last spot.

At cb.... Burns, Cockrell, Sutton, Gay,?, Sensabaugh?, Golson?, and more raw and potentials. Maybe we can get lucky and find a diamond in the ruff

I think there are a bunch of camp battle to keep an eye on, but WR wins at the moment for me mostly because I think they will see the largest jump in quality from what we ran out there last year. That being said, here are some other battles to keep an eye on.

    Offense

Backup QB - You have seen reporters predict Dobbs beating out Jones. Is that possible? I don't know, but it may be fun to watch.

    WR - Already noted.

TE - This is an interesting position to me. The X Man seems to have committed to his body conditioning. He probably has a higher ceiling than James does overall, but James is more solid. I don't really expect a true competition here, but I am excited to watch for improvement from both.

    Defense

Dline - The 5th and 6th spots are up for grabs. There are leaders in McCullers and Walton, but you have to wonder if a guy like Maxey steps up and steals a spot from one of them.

OLB - Dupree, Harrison, and Watt are givens. After that you have Chickillo, Moats and Adams probably all fighting for one or 2 spots. Adams has a ton of potential IMO, but the other 2 have the experience.

ILB - Who steps into that 3rd ILB role? Not only that....who is #4? Depth is a major concern for me here.

CB - There is good competition here. Cockrell and Burns are the starters. Gay is probably the #3. Sensabaugh and Sutton probably make the roster. You then have guys like Hilton, Golson, and Allen. That is 8 guys for 6 spots. It should be a pretty decent competition because there is a mix of youth and experience there.

S - Who is the #3? Is it one of the guys from last year in Dangerfield or Golden or does the signing from Tenn step into that #3 role. Depth again is another issue here.

Lastly, if we are smart, we look to trade some depth maybe at WR to add an ILB or a S. I think those are important.

He's 5'8 178 I wouldn't expect too much from him, he got a lot of hype from mini camp.

Dobbs has no chance of being the #2 QB this season, I heard reports of him being erratic in OTAs.

Cornerbacks for me will be intriguing.

I am hopeful Brian Allen makes the final 53 for one. 6'3 corners with that level of agility do not come often.

For two, I want to see how well Cameron Sutton performs. He has had good reports from OTAs. Let us see.

Biggest thing I want to see? How much as Artie improved? Sky is the limit for him. He has to make the jump in order for Pittsburgh to ascend the stairway.

Sutton can return punts which gives him another dimension.

You all have raised some very intriguing points but I'm most interested in the battle for long snapper. I will be watching this position closely throughout camp!

Starting TE has been decided already, it's Jesse James.

    Jesses James is No Heath!!!

I like James, think he has potential and he is going into camp as the Number 1 TE but if there Isn't a good camp Battle for #1 TE we're in trouble there.

The #1&2 WR are set.... #1&2 CB are set as is QBs, RB, LB, Safety, DL and OL.

We will see who gets the playing time in preseason, I would think they want to see what they have in the 2nd rd pick Golson over Hilton.

James started last season didn't he? They didn't bring in any real competition to unseat him this year, so James will start. They don't need him to be Heath, he just needs to keep improving his game.

Like it or not, Jesse James is the starter. Xavier Grimble doesn't have the in-line blocking skills Todd Haley prefers in a TE. James does. Scott Orndoff is my sleeper pick to make the 53-man roster. David Johnson isn't needed with Rosie Nix as FB.
