Congrats Pens bringing the cup back to The City of Champions. They have set the tone and won one more for the Thumb.

If this doesn't motivate Ben et al nothing will. Strangely, 1960 Pirates remain last Pgh sports team to win championship on home turf (sorry 2005 Detroit doesn't technically qualify).

Well, yeah, they won the Stanley Cup, but they didn't beat the Patriots on the way through so really you can't count it.

A Stanley Cup will mean nothing if it's not obtained at the Igloo.

The hockey season and playoffs played out the way I thought. I'm waiting to see the odds for next season on the Pens. Just because it has never happened for a three peat doesn't mean much to me. Pens are the best team in the league and while a lot of things can interfere with the Pens winning it all again next year a lot of injuries and things happened this year and didn't stop them from winning it all.
So if people don't think them winning 1 more Cup is possible simply don't bet it. I think it is possible and I will bet it. I made $14,500.00 for the animals by the Pens winning the last two Cups. That deserves a bet on them winning again next year. After all this is house money I'm playing with. The Pens and their whole organization deserve congratulations for two great seasons back to back.
    One more to go?

I'm not even a Penguins fan, but I can't understand why they don't call the PPG (or whatever it's called) the Igloo. It was such a great name.

The igloo was called the Igloo because of how it looked, like an igloo. So while it would be cool to have that history at PPG it would be just a name and have none of the design elements that made the Civic into the Igloo

Maybe we could make a suggestion to Goodell.... make the championship series a best of 7...... sadly, based on past experience, it'd probably be a NE sweep unless something has drastically changed.

That is true but Detroit barely even qualifies for a city. Post-zombie apocalypse zone but not city and certainly not turf.

    Here's a question...

Who gets to 7 first? The Pens or the Steelers?

I'm going Pens because the Patriots don't play in the NHL.

If pens get 7 before we do I guess I can live with that.

Im not a good ice skater, but there is a lot of carry over from roller skating, and unless Tom can ice skate, I guarantee you that I can manage well enough to give him some good slashes and a few good cross checks on the way down.

I second this! Pens will pass the Steelers soon if Sullivan stays their coach. Now that is a COACH.
