Josh Dobbs signed a 4 year deal today. Almost $3 million I think.

Routine. Rookie wage scale, easy singing rookie class now.

Look forward to seeing him in preseason.

I am not so sure of that, #7 has been known to miss some games, and his age and the amount of hits
he has taken over the years won't help matters. Remember people, it's usually not the arm strength
that goes, it is the Qb's inability to protect themselves.

Steelers know what they have in LJones, they said he's better than 80% of the backups in the league, it's totally unlikely a rook like Dobbs will put him on the bus, more likely dobbs will put himself on the bus: From one old sarge to another, Happy Memorial Day and remember our departed hero bros from our War and all Wars..:smiley1:

Then how come almost every time I see him come in he seems to throw an int or miss a lot of passes.

In this league a player is only as good as his last game, and in jones last game jan 1 2017 he completed 24 passes for 277 yards 3 TDs 1 int for a QBR of 103.1 and won the game, thats pretty good for any QB....

Steelers can save 1.9 million by cutting Landry after this year. Dobbs will certainly have the opportunity to beat him out next year.

It will be interesting to see what Tomlin will do if Ben gets a typical 4 games out injury. If Dobbs shows he knows the playbook, will he go with his gut to give the kid a chance? He could say Jones is starter, but will bring Dobbs in for a couple series during each game.

What's the point in cutting Landry next year? They still would need another QB, might as well keep Landry in 2018 to give Dobbs more time to develop.

Dobbs could beat him out of his backup job.

More development time = getting the #2 reps in practice in year 2.
