Troy's already been on a cover. That next season was horrible with injuries for Troy, I do hope Ray Rice gets it, he will flop just like Peyton Hillis did.

Yeah theres just to many people that get hurt or have a bad year after it. I honestly dont remember the last one who got it and didnt have something go wrong.

I would love to have Troy on the cover BUT the madden curse is real. We can all go down the list and point out every player that has been subject to the curse. Look at what happen just last year to Peyton Hillis.

    Let's stuff the ballot box!!
Not everyone on the cover has had a bad/injured season, but it's worth a shot.

I voted for him. A hell of a lot of players that have never made the cover have had injuries and/or had bad seasons. The "curse" is ridiculous.

The curse is real, but not because of a curse. It's because whoever decided to put someone on the cover picked whoever was hot at the time instead of a consistent player. The flavor of the month. Peyton Hillis didn't have another great year? SHOCKER. Shaun Alexander turned out to be not the best RB of all time? I DON'T BELIEVE IT. Troy Polamalu got hurt? IMPOSSIBLE.

There'd be no curse if they could pick the players better.

Shaun Alexander was not a consistent player??
What about Ray Lewis? Oh, just a flash in the pan, I suppose.

Hillis may be the only 'non-consistent' player to be affected by THE CURSE.

My nephew did a senior thesis on "the madden curse". I'll have to get it from him a post it here. It's an interesting read. The only person not affected by the madden curse was Ray Lewis. So get out there and vote for Ray rice!!!

Okay, not ALL of them were bad picks. Drew Brees was pretty fail-safe. But a lot of them were picked because there was just so much hype around them. They were the biggest thing in the league at the time. Shaun Alexander is a perfect example of that. He was never that great, he was just good. He played in a friendly system behind a great OL on an explosive offense and got a lot of goal line TDs. People thought he was the best in the league, and would be one of the best of all time. Both of those notions are idiotic. People then go on to forget that they ever thought that, or at least pretend to. You could say the same thing about Priest Holmes, and more recently, Chris Johnson. Oops.

    Dante Culpepper
    Michael Vick
    Donovan McNabb
    Shaun Alexander
    Vince Young
    Brett Favre
    Troy Polamalu
    Peyton Hillis

It really surprises you that these guys flopped for one reason or another?? Why not put Tim Tebow on there? Everyone knows he had an amazing year!

Did his thesis talk about all of the players who got injured and had bad years that were not on the cover of Madden?

No, he tore a quad the last game of the year. The only reason he's listed as cursed is, the year before he had 6 int's, that year he had 0. No serious injury that plagued him all year.
