Even leading into the draft, ESPN was talking about the players and possible landing spots while NFL Network was doing their "red carpet" thing focusing on the fashion. Lame.

They had a lot of Steeler pick coverage on the NFL stream. I was surprised actually. Normally you don't see it. Arthur Moats is a riot, you can see how he is easily a locker room favorite. Infectious laugh...

Actually, I think character is becoming more and more important with the NFL's more aggressive punishment of any and all transgressions, and what the over-saturation of social media can do to harm team chemistry.

Also, see last year's Patriots. Their roster was talented, but not nearly the most talented roster in the league in terms of physical traits. However, they have an abundance of smart, good-character players who embrace their roles. Drafting a lot of those kinds of players can really pay off vs. drafting "me" guys and guys with checkered pasts.

I love Moats.... off the field. I don't think he has much left in the tank to contribute on the field.

I've heard stories of Cam Sutton staying after to help clean the locker room to help out the managers. Pretty good for a kid in college...

and they have had their share of knuckleheads as well and weren't afraid to take on a little baggage if it meant those players would help them win. Don't forget they also have the best QB in the game as much as it pains me to say...nobody makes chicken salad out of chicken **** better than him. He doesn't need top draft picks at every position to win. Maybe the "character" they have didn't necessarily come for the draft but comes from their leader at QB and the best HC in the game as well...Maybe we should take notice of the elephant n the room....every chance one of our guys gets he is saying or doing something stupid....

My wish list for the 4th round is hoping one of these guys fall to us, S King or Jerome or TE Leggett. If them 3 are gone I will have to regroup, also did anyone see the special on Eluemunor on the NFL Channel? Another great story is from the Pennsylvania area Lackawanna(sp) I think. Good story

I could easily see another WR here or maybe fullback. We are bringing 31year old Keenan Lewis in for a visit so we are set in the secondary:facepalm:

So, like many I was crestfallen when a bunch of guys that I had targeted went off the board late in the 2nd round. To rub even more salt in the wound, I was watching with a buddy of mine who is a Packers fan and I started talking about Josh Jones as my next guy the second that Obi went off the board. 40 minutes later, Jones is a Packer and my buddy is laughing has butt off at me.

I had watched almost no film on JuJu or Sutton before the draft, so this morning I watched every single tape on both guys on draftbreakdown.com (LOVE that site). I am now feeling a lot better about both picks. I think JuJu is going to have a good 6-10 year pro career as a possession receiver at the NFL level. He'll make the tough catches over the middle on 3rd down and score TDs in the red zone. He'll block for his teammates (though he needs to learn how to maintain his leverage).

Sutton I really like. I did a lot of watching of CBs before the draft, but just never got around to Sutton. Now that I have, I like him better than some the guys that I really liked heading in like Elder, Kazee, and Desmond King. I watched a lot of Jourdan Lewis and Awuzie before the draft, and I would frankly be hard pressed to take either of those guys over Sutton based on tape of the 3 guys. I would have gone with Awuzie higher based on measurables, but I frankly see about the same caliber corner when comparing between Sutton and Lewis. They have the same weakness dealing with bigger receivers, but are pretty complete other than that. Sutton adds the punt return capability and character. I'm happy with the pick, and I think he will be on our roster for the next several years.

I have yet to watch much of Connor. I will say that I really wanted Gallman with his versatility as the backup to Bell, so I'll need to see whether I like Connor as much on tape.

Yeah he is only 20, but we saw how the WR corps looked last year without Marty and it wasn't pretty. DHB may get a last spot as a ST ace but he isn't going to see the field much as a WR (hopefully). Ayers and Rogers have shown some promise but they are smaller slot types. We're starving for a WR like JuJu.

We can agree to disagree I guess haha I see more like 40-50 catches for JuJu. I'd be surprised if he caught less than 25 balls this year.

I agree. The more I process the pick, the more I see that he fills a need. Not so much a positional need, as we have plenty of bodies at the WR position, but a need for a certain type of receiver. The absence of a chain mover and red zone threat was glaring in the last 2 playoff games. I like the pick more and more every minute that I think about it rationally.

You got Big Ben slinging the ball alot :smiley1:

    100+ for AB.
    70+ for Bell
    50-60 for Bryant?
    40-50 for Juju.
    Another 40-50 for TEs?
    40-50 Rogers?
Another 20-30 for remaining receiving options?

So around 400 completions. Based on a completion percentage of 63% that would be 635 pass attempts. I think our sack percentage in 2016 was 6.15% which equates to 39 sacks.

No wonder Ben wants to retire.:lolol:

My take for this draft seems to be that last season the defense over performed while the offence under performed to expectations. So the Ju Ju / Conner picks look like more of a late game ball control options. Increase time of possession while the young defense improves for the playoff run. We are definitely drafting HEART this year. Based on some of the player's latest tweets we need that.
