All speculation at this point...just trying to create some new and such. Colbert/Rooney or something I forget...said that Mendy is apart of their future. And I think as long as he heals and can show he's good to go....he will remain with the Steelers and plus he wont cost a ton of money to retain either.

He won't cost a ton of money but they will pay him a ton just like they did Colon this year and Max Starks two years ago. They seem to have a habit of throwing money at injured players.

I hope I am wrong ,but I think Mendenhall will never be the same again....IMO he never returned to form from the shoulder hit,now he has a injury that will effect him mentally and physically.....

I wished BA would have used him correctly because I fear we have seen the best of Mendenhall and if that happens I hate that for him..

There's a story on nfl.com that says he might not be ready until 2013. I suppose if there is an upside to that we will really get to see what Redman can do. I'm not a big mendy fan anyway but I'd hate to see him miss a whole season.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Steelers look to move a low round, say 4 or below, to Carolina for J. Stewart. He fits here, he just does. He hits his holes, runs hard, and can catch out of the backfield. I still go back to what I said about BA and Haley. Haley is going to look to increase the % of passes that are thrown. He will make us of the running backs out of the backfield. I still say, I was not upset that we throw the ball 60% of the time, I was upset that we threw the ball 25+ yards about half of those attempts. They are low percentage passes, when Heath is standing in first down territory just 6 yards away. Instead we throw to guys in double coverage 30 yards down the field. It is all just strange.

I wanted Steward coming out of college. I also wanted Pat willis over timmons. We keep "the next best" player. I sure hope it doesn't happen this year.

I dont think you can consider him a bust in his three years as a starter he averaged over a 1000 yards a season amd a total of 29 tds. You are making him out to be like worley.

I think it has more to do with the fact that he doesn't have the personality that people want to root for, his tweets and comments has something to do with it, and because of this I really am impartial if he stays or goes.

In his defense, I will say the line that blocks for him has been very poor compared to the lines that blocked for other great Steeler RB's.

When you look at Willie Parker and Arian Foster being UDFA's why overpay for him?

When it comes down to it im pretty much against drafting any rb in the first round. They have short lives in the nfl. There are exception s to the rule of course like
AP i would take him in the first but for the most oart im against it.

Eh, there's something just not quite right about people talking about the "he doesn't have a Steelers personality" and "I don't like his tweets" in the same breath.

His recovery is the only thing that really matters in terms of whether he stays or goes. Aside from that, we should remember that there are a fair few players for us who have been complete dicks outside of football, and much worse than Mendenhall. Those that say he's been terrible on the field are frankly talking out of their backsides.

    :roflmao:

And I wanted Patrick Peterson over Curtis Brown. I guess you'd rather we picked 10 spots higher every year?
